Solves powder flow issues
As a picky reloader, I try to exclude as many variables as possible from my reloading so that I am consistent across the board with my ammunition. By keeping the gravity feed pressure constant on the metering unit, the powder baffle allows more uniform powder charges. It also can help to keep powder (flake especially) from forming small clumps in humid weather. The baffle has a hole in the center where the powder drains through. When you are done with that particular powder, or desire to remove the baffle for any reason, you can make an "L" shaped hook and lift the baffle out. As one reviewer pointed out, perhaps it should come with one, but a piece of 10 gauge copper wire solved the matter for me.
