HORNADY - 45-70 Springfield Brass 50/Box

Is is a fact the Hornady 45/70 brass is shorter than standard, the reason for this is that it is sized for their "leverevolution" bullets wich require that fraction of inch to function properly in "lever" action rifles. If you have not tried their line of lever gun ammo you should give it a try. It brings the 45/70 way up the scale in power. For those that still like the old slow 500 grain lead rounds (i am one also) you just have to keep the brass separated, with that in mind I give the 5 stars.

The brass seems consistant and good quality. However, the Hornady brass is 2.035". Most other brass is 2.105. Neither my bell die nor my seater/crimper dies could be adjusted to overcome this. If it were not for the length issue I would have rated this much higher.
