What is the RCBS - Bench Mounted Primer Pocket Swager?

RCBS BENCH MOUNTED PRIMER POCKET SWAGER

The bench-mounted RCBS Primer Pocket Swager Tool easily removes military-style primer pocket crimps or staking from cartridge cases. Featuring a rugged cast-aluminum body and foam-padded handle, the tool supports cartridge cases from the inside with a hardened steel rod, perfectly aligning the primer pocket with the swager head. Comes with two steel support rods to fit small and large primer pockets. Slide the case onto the steel rod, rotate the case down into position in the swager, and operate the handle to complete the job.

Prop 65WARNING: Lead - Discharging firearms in poorly ventilated areas, cleaning firearms, or handling ammunition may result in exposure to lead and other substances known to cause birth defects, reproductive harm, and other serious physical injury. Have adequate ventilation at all times. Wash hands thoroughly after exposure.

What Reviewers Are Saying
Product Efficiency
75%
Many reviewers highlight the SWAGER's ability to quickly swage cases, often mentioning the smooth operation and speed. Customers generally agree on its efficiency, reflecting satisfaction in the swaging process, allowing them to handle larger volumes with ease.
Design and Ease of Use
65%
Overall, the design is praised for being robust and user-friendly. However, some reviews indicate that the extra lever on competing products adds unnecessary complexity. Once mounted securely, users find it easy to operate and effective in swaging various brass types.
Mounting and Stability Issues
45%
A notable concern arises regarding the mounting process. Some customers struggle to securely fasten the swager to their bench, leading to slippage during use. Not all necessary mounting accessories are provided, which has frustrated some users seeking better stability.
Value for Money
60%
Users consistently mention the product as affordable, pairing its performance with a competitive price point. The economical aspect enhances customer satisfaction, as many feel they receive a quality product without overspending.
Comparative Preference
50%
Several reviews reference comparisons with other swagers, particularly favoring it over the Franklin Armory unit due to its ease of use and design. This theme indicates a clear tendency for users to tout the PRIMER POCKET SWAGER as the better value for its function.

you must mount it to your bench
once it is mounted solid to your bench, use the instructions that comes with the swagger to set it up, it works great.

Fast swaging and good cam leverage
This thing is smooth and super fast. You can get a lot of shells swaged in a quick amount of time. Adjust it for each type and/or year of brass and you won't have any problems. Good price and fantastic product. In my research i found this to be the most evolved table mounted swaging system. The kit came with bolts to mount to a RCBS mounting plate. If you don't plan on using the mounting plate - Get the hardware to mount it on your bench from the hardware store, kinda like every other thing that is mounted on your bench. I can't say good enough things about this product.

Swages Real Well
I can understand the issues of the other guy on mounting the unit. But this does not deter me from giving the unit 5 stars. I got this bolted on a 1" thick ply board and use 2 6" c-clamps to mount it to my bench when I need to swage pockets. It is very sturdy. Swaging 5.56 x 45 brass is effortless. I've swaged 500 rounds and have been absolutely satisfied. Get one before they raise the price.
3
Cumbersome
I first bought the Franklin Armory swager because this one was out of stock. I then bought this one. After using both, I prefer the FA unit. It is much easier to use and more a robust design. The RCBS unit has an extra lever you have to operate. That equates to 1000 extra steps to swage 1000 cases. The FA unit has one lever to pull on to swage a case. Some reviews mention the spring breaking. You can buy a hardware store spring to replace the factory spring easily. Besides the spring is not required to operate the FA unit. Overall the FA swager is a better, easier to operate unit with a more robust design. You get much more for about the same cost.
