What is the SINCLAIR/L.E. WILSON - Stainless Case Trimmer Kit With Micrometer & Stand?

STAINLESS CASE TRIMMER WITH MICROMETER & STAND

The Wilson Stainless Micro Trimmer utilizes the most accurate trimmer in the world in its new stainless steel configuration, an exclusive Sinclair International product. The compact micrometer unit is incorporated into the stop bearing which allows the user to easily make quick trim adjustments in .001" increments. The Wilson Stainless Micro trimmer uses a case holder that holds the case by the body taper and utilizes no pilots during the case trimming operation. Trimmer case holder, cutter housing, and adjustment stop sit in perfect alignment with each other. This guarantees an identical trim length for each case. When trimming cases shorter than 1.3” such as pistol cases, the use of a spacer (part number WX11) is necessary.

The Wilson Stainless Micro Trimmer sets on top of our Sinclair Mounting Stand with Shark Fin Clamp. The Shark Fin enables the user to quickly trim and exchange cases in the case holder. All of our Wilson trimmer accessories work with the New Wilson Stainless Micro Trimmer. Visit our website, catalog, or call our reloading technicians to order trimmer case holders and other accessories. * Trimmer Case Holders and accessories sold separately.

Reviews Summary
The WILSON Stainless Micrometer Trimmer with Stand is highly regarded for its precision and repeatability in trimming brass cases. Customers appreciate the accurate micrometer adjustment, although some mention the need to purchase additional brass holders separately. While it excels in trimming rifle brass, it's less suitable for pistol brass. Overall, it delivers excellent performance and is recommended by users seeking accuracy in reloading.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Precision and Accuracy
80%
Many reviewers highlight the exceptional precision of the Wilson trimmer, noting it achieves cuts within .0005 inches and ensures square case mouths, making it ideal for precision reloading. Users appreciate that the micrometer adjustment facilitates easy and exact control over trimming lengths.
Setup and Usability
60%
The trimmer is generally described as easy to set up and use, although a few users note the absence of necessary Allen wrenches in the package. Despite minor setup challenges, users find that it quickly becomes intuitive to operate after a few cases.
Compatibility with Cartridges

Quality Product
After much debate on the best type of Wilson trimmer to buy, I settled on the Ultimate model since the micrometer can do direct reading of overall case length. It works well, and can handle my primary cases (222, 30-30, 30-06) without any special set-up changes. Some reviewers on gun forums worried about the fit of the 30-06...not a problem. Very square trim, with repeatable accuracy. Very happy with the purchase.

Hands down the best trimmer available
Best trimmer on the market for precision reloading. It trims to within .0005 every time and cuts square case mouths. Its very easy to set trim length using the micrometer. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money for this trimmer over the Forster, RCBS, etc.

Accurate, on the money every time
This is a really valuable/great reloading tool for rifle brass (NOTE: you'll run into difficulties using this for pistol brass). The LE Wilson brass trimmer is on the money, every case, exactly the same length every time. It will take about 2-3 cases to initially get to the exact cutting length. Remember to measure twice and cut once when initially setting up. Once you're set, lock everything in place and you're good to go. I've used other brass trimmers (won't mention the names) before getting the LE Wilson and just kept getting too much variation in overall brass length after trimming. Sometimes it was 0.01 to 0.02, not acceptable for precision reloading. What makes the LE Wilson consistent is the cutting length is based from the bottom of the brass, not the inside of the brass rim which can have thickness variation. The tool cutter itself is sharp and leaves a very clean cut. Other brands I've tried leave a lot of burs requiring more than usual deburring and chamfering--extra work. I think the only downside is you'll need to buy brass holders for the cartridge family you're reloading. Pay attention to this because some are based on new and fired brass. If you full-length size fired brass, it's not a problem. If you only neck-size fired brass, you may need two different case holders for the same cartridge. I'm also not terribly thrilled with the brass holder for the 280 AI. The brass holder goes all the way to the bottom of the brass before it fully engages the brass. It works, but LE Wilson should update their 280 AI brass holder for the new SAAMI spec brass coming out from Nosler and Hornady. One other thing, I liked the LE Wilson micrometer version (749-101-021WB). Not saying the Sinclair micrometer version isn't good. But, the LE Wilson micrometer version worked great for me. I liked that it's so easy to adjust to a relative zero. Overall, the LE Wilson brass trimmer is a very good product that made me happy enough to spend time writing this review for fellow reloaders. I wished I had started reloading with this brass trimmer rather than wasting money on other brands.

good bit of kit
I am an absolute picky person and spend a lot of time testing at long range and reloading. i've never bothered to write a review but this is deserving of a mention. Great bit of engineering, simple to adjust and fast to work with, fast to clean and oil/maintain. I only have a few Wilson items but will be looking into more it there items are at this quality. Highly recommend it, i have only used it with resisted neck turned 308win lapua brass, the 6mmbr will be to try.

Sinclair-Wilson Case Trimmer
Terrific trimmer, easy to set up and adjust. Better case trimmer than the Hornady I've used for yrs that produced inaccurate cuts. The micrimeter adjustment on this tool is accurate and easily adjusted. Wilson forgot to include the allen wrench(s), but I had them already. The cutter head is machined perfectly to the handle and barrel. This is the one to buy, just wished I had done it years ago.
