LEE PRECISION - Lee Deluxe Quick Trim

Trims/chamfers easily, precisely and quickly with just a few turns. Easier on the finger joints than the handheld trimmers. Much more efficient then the horizontal/collet set up used previously. Cutters seem very sharp - will see how long that lasts but replacement of the blades looks easy. Plan to get more inserts for more calibers.

I love this trimmer! It takes 3 steps and makes it one very easy step! I thought I would regret not getting the power trimmer of the same name but I'm glad I didn't. 3 to 5 turns of the handle and your case is trimmed so I don't feel like I needed the power version to begin with. Lee has come to really suprise me since I started reloading and constantly impresses me with the quality and value of the products they make. I have lee dyes that I like more than any of my others and also prime on my press with the lee ram prime and I love everything I've bought from lee so far. The products are cheaper but you get great bang for your buck with every lee product. The trimmer works great for me but I only load batches of 50 at a time on a single stage press. Someone that has a progressive might want to try something different to speed up the process. Reloading is a great hobby and pass time for me and in my opinion the more time you spend handling your brass through various steps the more likely you are to find bad brass you may miss in your initial inspection. Only negative that I've seen is it doesn't trim to the tolerances some may be looking for but a thousandth here and there doesn't bother me as I'm no pro long range shooter just a gun enthusiast that loves to plink around. I see no wear and the blades are still sharp after around 500 rounds trimmed but I guess having to replace those could be a negative too but being as how it takes steps out of my process and how cheap replacements are I'm fine with it.

This is the slickest brass trimmer I have found. Once you have it set up, all you have to do is slide a shell into the shell holder, raise the ram, and turn the crank about three times. The shell is trimmed in length and chamfered inside and out. I've tried about every trimmer there is and this one is fast and accurate. I can trim at least 20 shells per minute and I'm old and slow. I don't think you will be disappointed in this product. You will need a die for each caliber; the cutter is universal. I hope this helps you.

For the price, it does a decent job trimming, chamfering and deburring the cases in ONE step. I resize 223 Remington currently, and the product does what is advertised. My only problem with it is the cheesy plastic adjustment ring that dials in the exact depth. There is slight variation from case to case. The design is fairly poor and over extended use, I fear it will wear out to the point of losing it's accuracy. I normally batch resize a few hundred cases at a time, the wear and tear is becoming evident. To counteract this, I removed the adjustment ring and spacer and replaced it with a 9/16 split shaft clamp from McMaster-Carr along with a UHMW low friction washer. This drastically improves performance. It now rotates like butter and after set up, is dead on 1.750" every time.
