FORSTER - Outside Neck Turner Accessory For Original Case Trimmer

[...].I know there are other products out there that do a similar job but because this one can be added to a trimmer that many people already own makes it extremely attractive and affordable.Having said that, I have mine set up permantly for the sole purpose of neck turning.It is well made and will cope easily with high use reloaders.The accuracy of this product (measured with micrometer)is spot on.I would like to see a lever of sorts added to eliminate the need to reach over trimmer to turn the cam but this does not detract from the user friendliness...

If you are handy with your Forster original case trimmer, adjusting the outside neck turner will not be hard for you. Once set-up it cuts very precisely and repeatably. It will take you a bit to learn to control the the lateral movement while cutting, but after that it's a breeze - it produces near lathe like results. The weak spot is the cam follower, it is very soft and it will start wearing after few hundred cases, it can also bend if you apply too much pressure. It's cheap and easy enough to order replacements from Forster, but that one component is not on par with the quality of the rest of this product.

The Neck Turner attachment cuts cleanly and accurately, however I found two design issues with it. First, the Cam Follower is not heat treated, it is dead soft. Take a warning and loosen the bearing block before inserting the Cam Follower, otherwise it can be bent easily. Second, since the Pilot is very tight in the case neck, and turns with the cutter, it can gaul the ID of the brass case, unless you keep it lubricated. If the Pilot was allowed to spin on its own bearings, this wouldnt be necessary.
