Echo Zulu Starter Kit

Stake your AR’s castle nuts faster & more consistently with Tango Uniform’s new Echo Zulu Castle Nut System.

This Starter Kit Includes: one EZ castle nut, a bi-directional staking guide, and a straight-wall staking punch.

The patent pending EZ castle nut is made from premium 4140 PH alloy steel and finished in long duration, diamond hard black nitride. It was precision machined on a modern Swiss CNC lathe, to tolerances that meet or exceed the mil-spec TDP, including true class 3 threads. The EZ castle nut features eight co-linear wrench & staking notches, allowing for easier visual alignment, and multiple staking locations with even the largest end plates.

The bi-directional staking guide is injection molded from premium glass-filled nylon for enhanced durability. Its small, symmetrical design allows it to index around most QD end plate designs.

The included staking punch has a straight-wall design so it won’t tilt inside the bi-directional staking guide. It’s made from 17-4 stainless steel and finished in long duration, diamond hard black nitride. The punch’s 4mm shank is standard for most off-the-shelf spring loaded center punches.

The straight-wall staking punch and precision staking guide work in tandem with the unique EZ castle nut design, allowing for strong, consistent staking with minimal risk of damaging other components.

Why discontinue this product?
This has been THE best castle nut system I've ever used when assembling my AR's, I saw this on school of the American rifle YouTube channel and decided to buy a couple and they've been more than worth the money, the castle nut is high quality, the staking punch is surprisingly good, I've used the same one multiple times and it's still in perfect shape to stake with, the little staking guide takes all the error out of staking in the right spot, no clue why brownells has decided to discontinue this product, next time I need one I guess I'll have to buy direct from echo zulu.

Well made and good looking castle nut. Great hard tipped staking punch tip. Easily do perfect staking jobs with included jig. I bought 1 when these 1st came out but these on sale for $7.50 i had to pick another one up.

A must have for proper builds
Bought multiples of this castlenut kit. The castle nut itself is properly machined and straight. You'd be surprised at the amount of bogus out of kilter thread cutting with other nuts. I'm not going to say its a FWD controls equivalent but its close and at sale price a fraction of the cost. The jig works well but don't expect it to be compatible with every castle nut out there. That being said probably the best deal for this often overlooked part. Very satisfied. I have a Griffin wrench but very tempted by the echo zulu one with built in jig.

If you're the kind of person that likes your personal projects to come out perfect and professional this little kit is for you. The castle nut, the jig, and the center punch will give you a professional looking result when you stake your castle nut. Take all the gas work and anxiety out of staking your castle nut and spend 20 bucks on this kit it's worth every penny if you like your projects to come out perfect.

This Is In My Top 3 Favorite Castle Nuts
Nice looking and well machined castle nut that when used with either their plastic jig or castle nut wrench will make perfect staking notches. This nut along with FCDa & Spikes LW castle nut are my 3 goto nuts for all my builds. I got the starter pack with nut, jig & puch tip since i already own the Nieko punch provided. I do really want to try their CN wrench but I already have multiple wrenches and the price is a littl steep IMO. FYI I used this successfully with my Spikes and FCD nuts or any brand as long as they have some of their staking notches line up with their wrench notches. Great buy just for the staking jig alone.

Top 3 Best Castle Nut & Staking Tool
Very nice castle nut that machined beautifully with most staking spots ive seen. This is in my top 3 best castle nuts along with Spikes lightweight CN & FDC CN. The punch that comes with this kit fits my Neiko 6" punch perfectly. Also the staking tool will work with most castle nuts that have a staking spot inline with wrench tooth. My Spikes lightweight CN had 2 spots that lined up and the tool was able to stake at 10 & 3o-clock. Their wrench looked very good but i couldn't afford to pay another $40 for a wrench i dont need but it had staking jig built into tool.
