The BRN-15 Upper Receiver Groups feature a 5.56x45mm NATO chambered, nitride finished barrel, available in several popular lengths. Models are available in a Government, medium profile barrel, with the 16 inch also available in a lightweight contour. Barrels feature a gas block dimple, that the rear gas block screw securely engages. All barrels are stress releived.

Unique MLOK handguard extends past the gas block, to provide as much usable real estate as possible. Anti-rotation tabs at the rear of the handguard engage the upper receiver, preventing any cant in relation to the receiver picatinny rail. Large dual screws clamp and pass through the properly torqued barrel nut to ensure the handguard will not slip forward. Large vents are placed towards the rear, to allow both the barrel and handguard to cool more rapidly.

Forged Mil-Spec type upper receiver features M4 feed ramps, ejection port cover and forward assist. Forward assist pin is knurled at the front, to ease future swaps.

Please note, the 16 inch lightweight features a lock nut on the muzzle device. To remove, secure the lock nut with a wrench, turn towards the rear, and unscrew the flash hider.

Undergassed..
Sad to say, I bought the 13.7 BRN-15 upper on Gunbroker. Its been a problem for me for 2 range trips. Its super undergassed, basically a bolt action for me. I've tried lighter, and heavier buffer systems. I took it apart, everything looks normal.. Still wont run reliabily. Sad. I'll stick with BKF and BCM.

I Got A Dud...
While the fit and finish were nice, it turned out to be a bolt-action upper. I ordered the 13,7" mid-length and took it to the range to zero. I tried three different buffer weights and three different M193 loads...it would eject the spent case and reset the hammer, but not pick up another round from the magazine, and empties were barely dribbling out of the ejection port at 4 o'clock. I got home and pulled the gas block to check alignment...it was good, but the gas port only measured .073". Accuracy wise, it was printing 3.5" - 4" groups at 50 yds. (the JAKL's, BRN-180, and M&P15 I took were printing 1" - 2" groups, so not me this time). This one is getting returned.
