Great fit and feel

no issues with installation

Good Product

It was a little tight when installing, though I was able to just slide it in with my hand. Fit is perfect, checking is great.

Much better than OEM plastic MSH!

This dropped right in the frame on my Kimber CDP 2. No filing necessary, just a little gun oil as it was snug. Merged correctly with the bottom of the grip safety allowing correct function as designed. Finish and cut lines are excellent and matches frame color. Highly recommend!

May Require Some Minor Fitting!

Required some carefully controlled and precise filing of the height of the locking tabs on both sides to allow this part to even begin to slide into the mating grooves on the frame. Then some filing longitudinally along each tab to decrease the width of each tab. I used a Nicholson Pillar file #2 for this. And much patience and trial fitting. Once done with this custom work, which I did ( and not a paid gunsmith) it dropped in easily and looks great on my Remington R1 Enhanced 1911. Good, well defined, and consistent knurling on the surface as well as consistent bluing on this hammerspring housing and the surfaces were machined smooth, no burrs for the mainspring to rub against (rub a Q-tip across the inner housing surface). A great product I highly recommend !

Outstanding mainspring housing!

Installed this on current Colt series 80 1911. Quick and painless installation. Fit is excellent, no gaps and even. Looks great. Checkering is outstanding. Checkering anchors pistol to hand for no slip shooting. Highly recommended. Buy it!

PERFECT FIT!!

Put this on a Ruger 1911 commander in about 5 minutes. It slid right into place without any fitting. That's a first for me. Perfect fit, nice and tight, The finish matches the pistols finish exactly.

"too easy"

replaced flat MSH in my RIA 1911A1 with arched checkered. perfect fit. very deep checkering matched perfect. took all of 2 minutes to install.

S&A Excellent Quality 1911 Parts

Colt should start putting these in at the factory and loose the cheap plastic. The new Colt 1911 Guns are much improved with the exception of the cheap trigger and cheap mainspring housing. S&A's mainspring housings make great replacements.
