Greatly improves trigger pull and slack

Initial installation is straight forward and easy. The product description indicates some fitting may be required. In my case with a Ruger 77/17, the safety tab on the trigger had to be filed down to allow the safety to engage. It's a slow process because of the tight tolerance required. Take off too much (.005 too much) and the trigger could release even when on safe. The new sear and spring reduced slack dramatically and trigger pull from 5.25 to 2.25 pounds. If no fitting were required, I would give the product 5 stars. It would be nice if trigger pull and slack were adjustable, but that is not how the product is designed and marketed.

More fitting than expected.

This is not drop in. The bolt will not cycle until this is fitted. Put the sear pin through the Timney and the stock sear side by side. You will see the pad that Ruger filed on the OEM sear to fit. A similar amount of material needs to be removed from the Timney. The instructions do not tell you this. After the bolt cycles, then you need to adjust the safety. A very tiny amount of material needs to be removed, and a diamond stone works well for this. It took me an hour to figure this out and fit it properly. Now it works and is a very nice trigger pull. In the end, it is worth the effort. I would say that if you aren't mechanically inclined, have a gunsmith fit this.
