They have worked well for me for decades!!! Every handloader should have one... Without one how are you supposed to QUICKLY find the distance from the bullets' ogive to the lands.

Finding the lands!

Have several of these for different calibers. Helps me find the starting point for the best bullet seating depth.

Hornady Seating Depth Tool

The Hornady Length Gauge with these modified cases installed is a great way to find the maximum length a bullet can be seated for a given cartridge. Once that measurement is established, using bullet comparators along with a little experimentation, you can find the best seating depth for that bullet & cartridge combination. I have a modified case for all the different cartridges I reload.

Work great for tuning your loads to your individual rifle. I been using them for years and my son recently acquired a .243 Vanguard- 1st generation. Using this to load some Barnes X-Bullets for deer hunting. Been using them for over 20 yrs.
