Installed in a long-range custom build - this is a quality piece of kit. No flex, no binding, no issues. If you want to mitigate every risk and ensure your AR is as reliable as possible, this is a good part to install.
One BEAST of a charging handle!
Installed this on a 9mm pistol (HEAVY buffer and HEAVY spring). The locking tab alone is strong enough to comfortably cycle the bolt with one finger smoothly and without flexing! By itself, it would make a formidable bludgeoning weapon.

Ok Im biased. These ALL STEEL charging handles are smooth as silk. No galling, no twisting. Easily chambers a round using the left trigger finger only. This thing is a tough beast! I have used Power Custom parts for 10/22 builds and they perform beautifully. When I came across these, I bought them without hesitation based on my experience with Power Customs products. Ive used four of these on various builds and use nothing else unless a customer opts for another brand. You wont be sorry by trying this beast out!

These steel charging handles are absolutely the best you can buy, no worries about breaking or bending in my years of experience. I've used them on several of my own AR's and I've installed them on several customers guns too. Dave.
AR15 STEEL Charging Handle
Wow! Talk about rigid! There is NO flex in this charging handle. I really like the latch handle. It's large enough and strong enough to grasp with the index finger and thumb to work the bolt carrier with ease. It's also steel. No worries of torquing or breaking the charging handle when the game is on the line. It is steel so there is a chance of rust. I suppose a coating of cerakote or something similar would be the only way to make this charging handle better. (plus, please bring the price down a little) I've got to get one for each of my other AR's now!
Heavy
Massive piece of steel, does not flex when operated with the palm of your weak or strong hand. The tac-latch looks like it could be easily replaced with any AR15 version if you want something that is lower profile. PRO's: heavy duty, heavy, tac latch is replaceable. CON's: parkerized finish, would have preferred a Melonite treatment.
Power Custom Steel Charging Handle ROCKS
I just installed this unit into my North Eastern Arms 12.5" CQB AR15. My former high school graduate / student dropped by from his active duty SF unit for some trigger time. He carried out all his drills and then some stoppage immediate action drills when I secretly passed him some sticky PMAGS that were new and had not been tested or tried in this new NEA 15 CQB mag well. He did not mind carrying out the drills and he hammered the charging handle over and over again. I am a trainer and a competition match director so I cannot afford to break charging handles with some sloppy clients / students. I love this unit. I have broken two issued charging handles in the past, but they endured serious use. Now I have total confidence in this unit and so does this young "assaulter".
