I've used this stuff for a good number of years as a bike (i.e., bicycle) chain lubricant. Its greatest attribute besides being an excellent lube is that it does not attract grit which most (all?) lubricants have a tendency to do. Excellent stuff!

I have used a lot of different Bike Chain Lubes over the last 30 years. Many were too heavy or thick especially in cold weather or attracted dirt in warm weather or did not stay on in wet weather. I ride road bike and found this Boeshield to be the best all around and for ease of application. It lasts well and does not get messy, easy cleanup and after an application I am amazed how easy it is to pedal (less friction). Basically the stuff works GREAT.

This stuff has low surface tension and will spread readily when applied. It will disperse itself into cracks and crevices ensuring you have a thorough protective coat where moisture can collect out of reach.It lubricates quite well and dries down to give a good persistent layer for rust prevention. When I purchased my first Kahr K-40 many years ago they recommended B-9 and I liked it so much that I have used it and R.I.G. exclusively on all my guns since. With this combination I have been able to hunt in our harsh Alaska conditions without damage to old and expensive guns.

Pros:-Works on everything from electronics to bike parts to weapons. -Best rust protection you can buy. -Dries to a waxy film that lasts. Cons:-None I can find so far. I was first introduced to this product in the Marine Corps. We used it on everything from conex boxes and humvees to electronics and aircraft. Now that I'm off active duty I generally use it for bike parts and quick lube jobs on weapons if I plan to store them for a while. Those are my most common uses but I can't think of any squeak or rub that it won't fix. If there's absolutely anything that you can think of that needs rust protection, lubrication or a combination of both, you would definitely benefit from this product!

I use Boeshield T 9 in my rifle and pistol bores after cleaning. The solvent in the product evaporates leaving a thin coating of parafin wax behind to protect the metal from rust. The coating is easily removed prior to firing with a couple of passes of a Bore Snake from the breach; then you are ready to go. I sleep better knowing that the bore is protected. Note that this product is designed to protect metal, not to lubricate it.

I have used this on all sorts of metal, from antique tools to rifles and handguns. If left to dry, it forms slightly tacky wax that is impenetrable to water. If wiped off, it forms the same barrier, albeit thinner and requiring reapplication after handling. In repeated trials, this product comes out ahead of almost everything else. Brownells even tested it and found it second only to [...], which does does not stay in place and cosmosline, which is a mess.

First off I purchased a 12oz can off Amazon for around $20. I originally purchased this for my Dewalt table saw, tools ,blades and some old planes. IMO I wasn't too impressed with the results I've had with this product. Depending on the metal type I've had this stuff not dry but stay wet on certain types of steel blades and it never seems to leave a waxy film like it states, just seems to disappear most of the time. Also some of my hand planes started getting rust only after 2 months in a somewhat climate controlled basement. Honestly I'd go with some Mil-Com TW25B if you want a long lasting grease or Break Free CLP if you want a 3 in 1 deal or my personal favorite Slip 2000 EWL or the thicker EWL 30w as a lube/clp. MPro7 is another good alternative, Hoppes Elite Gun Oil, Shooters Choice, Tetra Gun, Ballisitol, etc...
