Impressive Features, Compact,
I own, and use, 4 competing timers. The CED is my favorite. I run timed pistol matches, in multiple disciplines. Given the compact size, incredibly strong start/end signal, and multiple function capability, the others are rarely used for most of our events. If there were an additional input jack, for double inputs, in man vs. man events, I'd sell all the other timers. One of them has the double inputs, so we retain it, for man vs man, on two falling plate racks. The battery charge indicator could be better, and the jack input is flimsy, but the unit has only let me down once with a battery failure. For my personal use, it has no equal. While not perfect, I still gave it 5 stars. I can hang it around my neck, and move freely while using it. Nothing else compares in that regard.
Almost Perfect
This timer is almost perfect as far as I'm concerned-- it's one fault is that the screen is so small it can be difficult to read, especially in bright sunlight. I was tempted to give it four starts for that reason, but it is PERFECT in one respect which made me bump it to five stars: it has no problem reading gunshots from a .22lr rifle, even firing subsonics and without a compensator. If you're shooting one of those in competition, this is the only timer I've found so far that will work every time. Most other timers won't even hear a .22lr rifle firing supersonics with a compensator, so that alone sells me on it. I use it for competition, hot fire training, and dry fire training. Very easy to set par, etc., etc.

Brother-in-Law Rated
I don't use this type of device, but my brother-in-law does. He says it is the "cat's meow", and, trust me, if he likes it anyone would -- he is hard, hard to please. I got it for him as a gift and he says it does exactly what he wants as a competitive timer and much more. He did say a model with chrono would be nice but that he didn't need it.
Excellent Timer The SIze of A Stopwatch
This timer is the size of a standard stopwatch. I had one issue with mine, in that the battery was not taking a charge and the screen became difficult to see. I sent it back to CED and they replaced my timer with a new one under the warranty. It would have received a 5 star rating had the battery and screen issue not happened. Timer is loud, its sensitive to pick up shots, and has many features that other timers on the market do not have such as an alarm clock, stealth mode setting, etc. I like the size most of all! Great timer!
2nd CED7000 Timer bought
This timer is the 2nd one bought for our club. It is excellent in all features. Will certainly buy another one of needed. Unfortunately the screen in unreadable in bright sunlight. Hence the 4-star rating.
Wont buy another
Works well, however, I have gone through three of these in the last few years. They just stop working. Screen goes blank, internals fried. I wont buy another. Very fragile.
