Lifesaver!
I was greatly frustrated to find that a NEW Colt upper I purchased in 2021 would not fit my OLD Colt lower (made in the early 1990s) with existing pivot pin. I'm curious as to why Colt would make different pivot pin hole sizes, but I digress... After calling Colt customer service, I learned that Brownells sold this Pivot Pin Assembly, and quickly came to the website to order one. What a relief to be able to mate my new upper and old lower, breathing new life into the rifle! It works great!
It works
Since everyone else has already said what I was going to say , Ill add this ,,its a crooked pin that goes in a crooked hole and makes an old lower and a new upper go together in happiness ,, glad colt offers this ,,it allows a lot of old era colts be new again
Pivot Pin
Perfect conversion pin. Having both styles of upper receivers this conversion pin works great
Well-made and works
These pins are well made and blend in perfectly when mating Pre-Post-ban Colt rifles.
Does what its supposed to do.
Of all the conversion "pins" out there this one is top notch. Well made, nice finish, installs easily and provides a tight fit when mounting a mil spec AR upper to an SP1 lower. The dab of red loc tite is a nice touch. Looks good when installed too. When installing I suggest loosely setting conversion pin in place, closing upper receiver and locking rear pin and then tightening conversion pin. If you're having trouble aligning the upper with lower rotate conversion pin with flat head until rear pin lines up. Makes it easier to install. Then just tighten small end with flat head until snug.
Colt Large Pin to Small Pin conversion
Replaced a Colt Large pin upper receiver with a commercial small pin and this part worked as advertised and got my Colt back in the game.
excellent part, fits perfectly
I bought this to convert my 1980's model Colt AR-15 A2 with a carry handle to a flat top upper. Perfect fit, locks down the upper vey tight. I found it easiest to install by loosely placing the front bolt in, then close the receiver and lock the rear pin, then fully tighten the front bolt. other wise it will roll the upper receiver around because of the cam action on the offset bolt. once installed, makes the rifle just like a factory fit. Great product!!
the right part
easy part to install
The right adapter
This adapter is all that is needed to connect a new AR15 upper to an older version AR15 lower with larger front pivot hole.
