AR-15 QRB 2 PIN UPPER RECEIVER TAKEDOWN KIT

AR-15 QRB 2 PIN UPPER RECEIVER TAKEDOWN KIT Reviews & Ratings

The Cry Havoc Tactical QRB (Quick Release Barrel) 2 Pin Upper Receiver Takedown Kit for AR-15 style rifles or pistols. While the QRB was primarily designed for the civilian market, non-civilian applications range from the Air Force using the QRB on the Air Crew Survival Weapon (GAU-5A) for ALL Fighters and Bombers, Motorcycle Police who did not have room for a standard AR-15/M4, to Operators in areas where an exposed AR-15/M4 might bring unwanted attention. In these and other cases, where there is a need for an AR-15/M4, the QRB now makes it possible to fit a rifle into a tight space but still have a usable barrel length for increased velocity.

  • Assemble and Fire in seconds, even in low light. Able to KEEP strong hand on grip - Nothing to Depress or twist with strong hand.
  • Use gross motor skills to assemble due to two-piece gas system. No lining up tiny gas access hole with gas tube first
  • Able to use a wide range of Free Float Hand Guards for the attachment of Back-up Iron Sights and accessories.
  • Super-fast barrel and upper cleaning.
  • The QRB can retain POA/POI as the barrel still ""head-spaces"" off the stock positions (our tests have shown accuracy retained to less than 1 MOA of original rifle setup).
  • With the purchase of an additional Barrel Lock Plate, switching to a different barrel length or caliber, like the 300 Blackout, takes just seconds.
  • Proudly made in the USA
  • The QRB Kit can only be used on Barrels with a maximum outside diameter of 0.985"" and Free Float Hand Guards with a maximum width of 2.0"" Also the QRB will add 1.5"" to the length of your free-floating hand guard.

To purchase the proper kit simply selection the gas tube option that matches up with your barrels gas system length. A kit designed for pistol caliber AR’s that does not include a gas tube is available as well. Includes Barrel Plate, Receiver Plate, Star Nut, and Receiver Plate alignment Pin.

Military Grade Hardware
Originally purchased a carbine length gas tube kit for a 5.56 short barrel rifle but this QRB would not fit my geissele rails...not even close. Returned the proprietary carbine length gas tube kit for a refund and got the pistol length gas tube for a 300 blk DDM4 pistol instead. Now this gun fits easily in a backpack when it is broken down even with a suppressor mounted. Recommend having a gunsmith install it.

One Receiver - Two Barrels = two rifles
I got the two pin kit for my AR-15 20 inch H-bar rifle Length; Then got a single barrel plate for my 16 inch M-4 Carbine length barrel. The optics want to be mounted directly over the barrel nut not on the receiver. I use a red dot optic on the carbine length barrel and a scope mounted on the rifle length. By mounting the optics on the hand guard, which is firmly affixed to the barrel nut, the optics are sighted in directly to each barrel. When you switch barrels, the optics never change in relation to the barrel. There is absolutely NO loss of ZERO - ever - as the barrel and optics are virtually one piece, connected to the receiver by the QRB and don't have to be removed when changing rifle/carbine configurations. The scope mount is a cantilever mount, reversed to provide the proper eye relief. One receiver; and any number of barrels/optics gives you as many complete firearms as you want, which can be taken down for easy, short length, transport or storage, and no loss of 'zero' for all your changes. I've seen pistol length with a folding stock that takes down to an unbelievable small package, and a 16 inch M-4 carbine that can be taken down and stored in a motorcycle saddle bag. These are superbly machined and extremely well built.

Well made.
Works real well. Breaks down pistol AR to small package and can be deployed quickly when needed. Manufacturer is a Hoot to work with if you have any questions.

Solid and Quality
Very easy to install and well made. Strong and a tight fit up with easy take-down and re-assembly. A bit on the spendy side, but it reduces length more than a folding stock, reducing overall rifle length by just little over 50% and takes only a few seconds more to be ready to fire. Only a slight modification was necessary to the profile of gas tube to clear the foregrip locking nut and fit properly into the gas tube extension.

Multiple Quuick Connect Uppers for Too Much Fun
I'll give it 4 stars because of the cost. But this is a really nice way to have a multi cal setup and a compact package (think 5.56 and 300 Black). Combine with a Stern Defense quick connect stock, and now you really have something. Is this something you need or must have? No, it's not for everybody (maybe for LE), but it is lots of fun.
Would you recommend this? Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I see no reason for this
I see no reason for this other than to excessively spend on a niche and novelty item. An AR is already a QTD firearm as it is. Push out the 2 upper attachment pins and it is then 1/2 the length and/or more. Please sell me how this adds any value.
