Drains batteries like an early EOTech
I bought the UH-1 Gen 2, tried it a few times, and left it on a shelf for about 6 weeks. Went to try it and the battery was totally dead. This unit was recently manufactured as well. I went online and did some research and found numerous others with similar battery drain issues. Some would just keep swapping batteries. Others replaced theirs via the Vortex VIP Warranty only to find the replacements still had the same problem. To me, this sounds like a half-baked design and Vortex had years to develop this Gen II, not to mention EOTech had this problem over 20 years ago but was fixed. My EOTech 512 from 2005 has no issues with lithium AA's and my 2010 Aimpoint CompM3 still has its original battery. No excuses! The UH-1's integrated mount is convenient, and the sight itself is easy to adjust/use. The reticle seems innovative but the EOTech pretty much does the same job. The lower part of the EOTech reticle does the same job as the triangle on the UH-1. The Vortex VIP Warranty is something you'll be using quite often unless you buy their high-end Razor and AMG rifle scopes.
