good fit for conceal carry
Grip is a good fit in my hand especially with the 13 round magazine. Comfortable withe weight of the gun as well.
I am very happy with this gun
I've tried a couple others but for me, from the grip to the sights, I really like the way this gun is put together. Easy to hold, gets back on target quickly, easy to rack and predictable trigger all make for a fun shooting experience.
Its a Keeper
I went ahead and pre-ordered the Shield Plus Performance Center 3.1 inch barrel from Brownells. Yes I had to wait over 3 months to get this. Yes its impossible right now to purchase extra magazines, but this pistol is everything I ever wanted from a conceal carry pistol - highly concealable, extremely accurate, and high capacity magazines (for a small pistol). I like the fact this fits in my old shield holster. I took this out to the range and ran 400 rounds through it and It performed flawlessly. I was very impressed by the shooting characteristics of this pistol. I immediately could tell the pistol shoots soft without the snappy muzzle flip that most non-ported small 9mm pistols produce. Ive heard the argument that you really dont need a ported barrel on a 9mm, however on this particular pistol follow up shots, one handed shots and rapid fire shots kept me well within the target zone. If there is one thing I could criticize that would be the manufacturer should have placed the HiViz Tritium sights on this pistol vs. the regular Fiber Optic sights. Although the Fiber Optic sights are excellent during the daytime, I would have preferred the HiViz Tritium sights for nighttime carry. I really didnt want to spend the extra money on the Performance Center version of this pistol, but Im glad I did. If your looking for a keeper then this it.
S&W All Day
Have to write this review about the shield plus. I had to cancel my order for the Shield Plus PC . I pre-ordered it here and it was taking to long and couldn't get any ETA on when they (Brownells) would have them so I had to get the shield plus. Everything about the plus series is great. Love the flat face trigger. Lite weight and the 10+1 and the 13+1 is great. The same size as my M&P 2.0. Love S&W.
Everything I had hoped for
As a fan of the original and version 2 shield pistols, I was waiting for this to come along. The increase in grip width is barely visible, if at all, to the naked eye. It does create a slight increase in grip circumference, which actually improved the feel of the gun in my smaller than average male hand. It really does fit in my shield holsters too. I dont find the barrel ports useful but the trigger on the PC version is about as good as any to be found on a plastic frame gun. So far, it is 100% reliable. My only complaint is I had to drift the rear sight because the gun was not zeroed properly out of the box. As I dont have a shield compatible sight pusher, this was a nuisance. Other than that, I am elated.
Fantastic Firearm - Yee-haw!
I've only owned handguns for two weeks so my apologies in advance for not knowing all the terms and verbiage yet. I'm a 5'5 female just learning about guns. My first two purchases two weeks ago were the G17 Gen 5 MOS and the Colt Enhanced Patrol Rifle. I purchased the M&P 9 Shield Plus PC (Performance Center) last week from a local gun store (this exact gun for which I'm writing this review). I've shot this gun three times so far. I F-N love it. It is very lightweight with the 13 round magazine. Sights are great. The stippling on the grip and the overall feel and heft of the grip itself is great. Trigger feels great - very smooth and easy pull. Before I purchased this model I shot the standard M&P Shield. The Shield Plus PC didn't have as much kick or recoil as I thought it would. I was super comfortable with it. I took it apart and cleaned it on my own with no difficulty. Disassembly and reassembly were straightforward based on the manual and the S&W website. I'm a new gun owner just learning so if I can figure it out you can too. Just an FYI the last time I was at the range I shot steel cartridges instead of brass because the store could sell me two boxes of ammo instead instead of one. The Shield Plus shot the steel cartridges just fine with no malfunctions. I'm really glad I purchased this gun. This will likely be my CCW unless I decide to purchase another gun (because why not?). I'm finding this is going to be an expensive, but fantastically fun hobby.
Very nice, perfect to carry all day
great to carry all day. however Smith and Wesson customer service is lousy.
I have no issues with the gun... however
I love the gun. It's now my edc. I'm not thrilled at the 3 plus month wait however I can live with that since they did port it and tune it. The thing I'm really not thrilled about is the fact that the day I ordered this gun and clicked that I was purchasing it right then and there and entered my details and confirmed it all I expected that I paid that cost right then and there. Especially since at that moment I was purchasing this pistol with my tax refund and had the money. However 3 plus months later I'm nearing the end of the month and what money I have in my account has to hold me over for two weeks and I needed groceries for my kids and to pay the other half of my rent. Instead I wake up to 10 dollars rather than the 620.00 I had when I went to sleep. I'm not sure why my money wasn't taken when I originally ordered this gun but you waiting all this time made the last 2 weeks the hardest and I do mean the hardest and I won't let my kids starve but I will if it means they don't.This was my first and last purchase with you. Not that you care about your customers. You've proven that to me already. No worries I will be deleting my account very soon.
