Good Quality P226 Mag For The Money

This is nearly identical to the Mec-Gar mag I have for the P226 (only the witness holes are different) and honestly Id have preferred to find more Mec-Gar mags. However, some quick research indicates these are made by MDS of Italy which makes magazines for Beretta. Im hoping this portends good quality. At the range the MDS magazine performed with zero issues. All rounds fed reliably and the slide locked back on every empty magazine. They click home perfectly upon inserting a new mag. The fit and finish on these are great and the price is fantastic. Ive already recommended them to a friend with his own P226. Props to Brownells for sourcing these and selling them at the prices they are.

I bought this for my Taurus G2C.It feeds flawlessly.The only con is the slide doesn't lock open after the last shot.

Nice magazines

Bought two of these. As mentioned by other reviewers, one mag would lock the slide back and the other wouldn't. I worked the follower on the bad mag up and down several times and that seemed to fix the problem. Maybe these just need some break in to function properly (in some cases, anyway).

Good Quality Mag!

I bought 3 to have backups for my Sig P226. I put a bunch of rounds through them and had zero malfunctions! They were worth the money and they will be good enough for my use.

I bought this magazine for my Taurus G2C. I bought the Sig P226 sleeve from BloodyWheels. Increased my capacity from 12 rounds to 15. I have large hands and it makes it a lot easier for me to grip.These magazines are made very well.

I forgot to add to my review that this magazine does not lock slide open on the last round. Not a deal breaker for me but might be for other people. As far as function it works great.

So So yet OKay

Magazine seems decent for those looking for a reliable magazine for their Newer Sig Sauer P226. While it gets the job done and worked great in p226 Stainless Elite it does not lock the slide back on my older P226 German, which is what I purchased it for. I also tried them in three Taurus pistols g2c, g3c and g3 and they would not lock the slide back on last round. If you're looking for a budget-friendly option, the MDS 226 magazine will suffice, but don't expect anything extraordinary. NOTE: My original p226 and Mec-Gar magazines all work great in all the pistols above and all lock the slide open on the last round. After a lot of playing around with these I can get them to sometimes now lock the slide back on the last round. As another reviewer mentions they may need a breaking in.

Feeds fine. Doesn't lock open.

Add me to the chorus of users having problems with the mags not locking the slide open on last round fired. Tried adding wolff xtra power mag springs (while discovering that the springs in these mags are different from Sig oem mag springs), changing followers with my functioning Sig OEM mags, etc. The culprit seems to be the notch for the mag catch being cut ever so slightly higher than spec, not allowing the follower to trip the slide lock. It locks the slide open of you push the mag into the gun with your hand. I bought two. Both have the same issue. Otherwise, feeds and cycles just fine. Quality finish. Purely a range mag. (P226 Nitron 2015+)

Eh, OK for the range

Wanted some extra mags for my new PX9 and these were the only ones I could find in stock. Took them to the range as soon as I could & each one had issues. I'd get failure to feeds with both mags at least twice per mag, pretty frustrating. Not sure if it's a spring issue or what, because the mags that came with it had no issues with any of the ammo I used that day. They do hold open on the last round so that was good. For the range they'll do, but I won't be counting on these for defensive purposes & will definitely be buying the other brand once they're back in stock since that's what comes with the PX9 anyway. I'd recommend them for practice purposes, just not for every day carry.
