Apex Tactical's FN 509 Action Enhancement Kit will give your pistol a lighter, smoother trigger pull with less pre-travel, shorter overall pull length, AND a shorter (therefore faster) reset. Like Apex's Action Enhancement kits for the S&W M&P and SIG pistols, it's an easy-to-install replacement for your 509's factory trigger, trigger bar, and sear - basically a drop-in DIY trigger job! FN 509 owners who are a little handy with tools and comfortable following instructions can do the job themselves.

When installed, the Apex FN 509 Action Enhancement Kit will reduce the trigger pull weight to approximately 5.5 lbs.; actual weight will vary slightly from one FN 509 to another. Rather than the OK-but-not-great feel of the plastic factory trigger, Apex's trigger is made of machined aluminum with their trademark "Flat Face." Many shooters prefer the flat face for its more comfortable feel and precise control akin to a 1911 target trigger. At the same time the "AEK" will not alter the function or reliability of your 509's factory trigger safety, firing pin safety, drop safety, or out-of-battery safety.

The pin will never come out!

The trigger is fantastic but the process to get it in the gun leaves much to be desired. The locking block pin is impossible to remove without a press. The gun I put it in was a 509 tactical.

Impossible to install

Bought this trigger for my FN 509 Tactical. The locking block pin on the FN 509 Tactical was impossible to get out. I pounded on it for 30 minutes with a full size hammer and was only able to get it approximately 1/4 out. I even bent a punch. I checked the Apex FN 509 disassembly video on YouTube. There were 15-20 comments from FN 509 Tactical owners commenting on the same problem with no answers. Make sure you can get the locking block pin out before you order this trigger. Waiting for Apex to answer all the YouTube comments. I will call them tomorrow. If they have a solution, I will write another review.
