Apex Tactical's FN 509 Action Enhancement Kit will give your pistol a lighter, smoother trigger pull with less pre-travel, shorter overall pull length, AND a shorter (therefore faster) reset. Like Apex's Action Enhancement kits for the S&W M&P and SIG pistols, it's an easy-to-install replacement for your 509's factory trigger, trigger bar, and sear - basically a drop-in DIY trigger job! FN 509 owners who are a little handy with tools and comfortable following instructions can do the job themselves.

When installed, the Apex FN 509 Action Enhancement Kit will reduce the trigger pull weight to approximately 5.5 lbs.; actual weight will vary slightly from one FN 509 to another. Rather than the OK-but-not-great feel of the plastic factory trigger, Apex's trigger is made of machined aluminum with their trademark "Flat Face." Many shooters prefer the flat face for its more comfortable feel and precise control akin to a 1911 target trigger. At the same time the "AEK" will not alter the function or reliability of your 509's factory trigger safety, firing pin safety, drop safety, or out-of-battery safety.

Hit or miss

I ordered this trigger after feeling it in my friend's FDE 509 tactical. In that gun it's an amazing trigger with a very light, clean take up with a break like glass. In my FDE 509 tactical it is a heavy gritty take up with a lot of creep on the break. Tried working with apex customer service and was told that I can't compare my gun to my friend's because every gun is different in it's tolerances. I will be taking this trigger out and putting the stock on back in, as it has a better feel for me.

Don't waste your time

I know some people like these but might be a gamble. Company sent a broken trigger and offered to replace but no help with gunsmithing services to get it in and out. By the time I got the new one installed would have spent triple the price of the trigger.

Look before opening packaging

Got this trigger to finish my 509 tactical fde build and lighten the trigger pull a little more. Had installed by gunsmith because locking block pin had to be pressed out, neither of us caught the fact the trigger looked like someone took sand paper to it. Before reinstalling to the trigger bar and the finish was very sub par. I would return if the pin didn't have to be pressed out just to get to it again. Very disappointed in the q&c on apex and brownnells side. This trigger had to go through many hands before it got to me so i don't see how this happened. **pictures could not be added as brownells picture Viewer would not allow it and kept saying error**
