Jerry Miculek made a name for himself by getting on target quickly and accurately with his go-to AR-15 rifle. Now, he's helping AR-15 owners across America do the same thing with the launch of the Miculek 22 Caliber AR-15 Compensator. This unique muzzle device is designed for all .223/5.56 NATO modern-sporting rifles equipped with 1/2-28 TPI threaded muzzles. The compensator is machined from 4140 steel and features an all-black manganese-phosphate finish. The design features six ports paired with three baffles that direct muzzle gas out sideways, reducing recoil and muzzle climb. A solid bottom prevents venting gas from throwing up dust while shooting prone, and each compensator ships with a lock nut for installation. The device measures in at a 7/8-inch diameter and 2-inch overall length, weighing 3.6 ounces.

I could not be happier.

This does exactly what it claims to do. Muzzle rise is negligible and follow up shots are a breeze. Its loud, but then what brake isnt. I would totally recommend this product.

Awesome, get this

Get this. My wife loves shooting the AR because of this, the muzzle doesn't move, it is like shooting a .22, and the price? Are you kidding me? Less than $40?? Not for hunting, it is LOUD. If you want the bullet (and the next one) to go where you aim, this is the brake for you. Be sure to watch Jerry's video about clocking it for right or left hand shooters.

Does its job

I'm relatively new in the carbine world, so I dont have experience to compare this comp to other comps or breaks. What I can say, is that there is a quite noticeable difference in muzzle rise that I am more than happy with; especially when considering the cost. The comp definitely makes the gun louder, but that was not a surprise. While there is bound to be more muzzle flash, it wasnt something I remember noticing when I took it to an indoor range. This was also true when outdoors. Overall, would certainly buy it again

Miculek Comp best comp for money

Great comp, 5.56 isnt gonna kick much anyway, but this really mitigates recoil and muzzle rise like a boss, louder than the flash hiders but you should have Ear Pro on anyway. Easy to install, forget a crush washer dont do it wont fit anyway, use the jam nut with a 1/4 rod to hold in place and tighten jam nut. Ive put a lot rounds through, and its still tight as when I put it on. Great product for the range, competition or just your choice for brake.

3 range trips later

had this thing for a little while now, maybe 2-300 rounds through it. It shoots .223 and 5.56 fine (I was skeptical it just said 22 in the title). I dont have much to compare it too as its my first build and Im on a budget. Ive had an issue with it coming unscrewed, I used grease on my threads to help prevent rusting maybe that wasnt a good move but Ive seen others do that with no issue. I first put on the nut all the way then the comp, the comp wasnt lined up right so I had to unscrew 1/4 turn. Once lined up I turned the nut back into the comp and went as tight as I could while holding the comp in place. Hopefully no more issues or Ill need to maybe use locktite or a torque wrench. Good comp for a budget.
