These are the best of both worlds...
These were introduced to me by a friend who was extremely happy with their fit, finish and functionality. I have to admit that I agree 100%. My experience has been that they work like metal magazines when it comes to the top part, no flexing, no issues. The bottom part is polymer construction that makes them extremely durable. AND the best part is that they are available in smoke translucent so you can visibly see your round count. I'm impressed and have been "stocking" up when the prices are reasonable. Thanks Brownells, for marketing MANY great products for us "gun nuts".
Reliable, can leave loaded for long time
These feed very reliably, I have never had a misfeed with them. I can leave the magazines loaded for long periods of time and they still feed reliably when I need them.
LANCER AR-15 L5AWM Magazines
We've been using Lancer for years. It's what we buy at the PD. Best balance of durability/reliability/and light weight. The heat treated metal feed lips, the high impact polymer, and the clear nature of the polymer, work great for us. I've gotten an occasional lemon. No problem, happens, always good customer service. problem solved. Thanks!

Great item with well thought out features. Translucent body is great for seeing rounds while loading and shooting with a tinted smoke color. Steel feed lips are a big plus over competition, especially with how well the design transitions from the polymer to metal giving it a very clean look. Wish they made AK mags and kept the look of these mags for the 308 versions.
My rifles just run with these
At one point I had a rifle issued to me that would routinely double feed near the end of a magazine. All efforts by the armorer to resolve these malfunctions were unsuccessful. I had access to GI issue magazines with a variety of issue and aftermarket followers, another polymer magazine, and some steel magazines, but the gun wouldnt run. The rifle was extremely accurate, so I was reluctant to exchange it. I bought samples from several magazine manufacturers, and the Lancer L5AWMs all but eliminated the malfunctions. I bought a 10 pack and never looked back. Folks asked if I liked the Lancers, and I usually responded that I was ambivalent, but my rifle liked them which was good enough for me. The ones I had have continued to run flawlessly in my personal firearms. Theyre worn, and Im starting to replace them with more of the same.

M16 professional mag user since 1979. used them all. GI, HK (great but heavy and dependable, typical and pricey) Mag are the most critical part of any mag feed weapon and are expendable items. Mag pull for the last >15 years. These are hands down a great alternative to Magpul and DD. Seem to hold up better in combat resupply bags. Thus far I have had no issues. Like everything, I stick with what I would go into battle with and only recommend the same to others. I rebuild ALL springs annually in all go to gear.measuring the old springs with OEM scales. I am slowly rotating out bad mag tubes w/ Lancers.
