AR-15 ADJUSTABLE GAS BLOCK .750" CLAMP ON

AR-15 ADJUSTABLE GAS BLOCK .750" CLAMP ON Reviews & Ratings

The Superlative Arms patented “Bleed Off”, direct impingement, gas block for the AR15 platform adjusts the gas flow by bleeding the gas out of the block instead of restricting the flow like conventional adjustable blocks. Results:

  • The pressure used in the block is reduced only to the amount required to drive the bolt carrier. The remaining gas / pressure are bled out of the block allowing the system to run much cleaner and cooler.
  • Reduction of felt recoil.
  • Patented adjustment detent is located outside of the block and therefore no contamination.
  • The gas adjustment screw does not restrict the gas flow; therefore there is no erosion or seizing of the screw / no loss of detent due to carbon build up. Although it is removable, we have added a safety mechanism, which stops you from unintentionally backing the screw all the way out.
  • When using SBR’s and / or suppressors the bleed off port allows the excessive pressure to be exhausted out of the block reducing blow back.

Great adj gas block
Great gas block that can be ran as standard adjustable gas block or set up for bleed off. The bleed off port faces the muzzle so if it’s tucked under a rail just know you will feel some hot gasses and get the front of the rail/barrel and any other object near the port dirty after firing. Adjustments are quick and easy, I’d definitely look at the manual for click values as some YouTube videos claim different Wide open settings. Some say 4.5 turns others say 20 clicks so just be sure to read it to get an idea of where to start.

Excellent for LR 308 pistol
Tested this out yesterday. Works great. Installed on a LR-308 pistol with 10.5" barrel. I originally installed a heavier 5.1 oz buffer with stock spring. Way over gassed. Installed a Sprinco Red +25% spring with the 5.1 oz. buffer. Right on according to the "clock" Shells scattered around 3:00. All this time the block was set at the recommended start of 4-1/2 turns. Swapped the spring for a +10% spring and tuned in the gas block to 44 total clicks. Neat little pile of brass at 3:30. Excellent. Wish they had one for the 50 Beowulf. You either have to remove the handguard or the flame arrestor on a short barrel gun to access the adjustment screw.

Solid performer
I've installed these on two guns and both have seen quite a bit of use. I've purchased a 3rd for my next gun build. I have both on AR-10's. One chambered in .308 with 16" barrel and another on 6.5 CM 20" barrel. I run both suppressed so it's great being able to tune the gas system. I definitely notice the internals run cleaner. Running suppressed BCG's definitely come out with less fouling compared to standard gas blocks.

Works on my m&p10
Easy to use, simple to install, and versatile enough to work on my 556 and 308 rifles. Follow the simple and easy instructions and it should be a breeze!

Some details missing in the Description
The allen wrench is 6" long (3/32") and has a T15 torx head on the short end. 6" easily reaches a midlength gas system from under a 15" handguard. The gasblock has a restrictive mode AND a bypass mode. So, you could completely seal of the gas tube or bleed off all the gas out the front; and everything in between, of course. I am keeping my 7.62x39mm upper from beating up my action using only 20% of the available bypass adjustments.

AR .308's Need These
I built two .308 AR's, and both had over pressure and timing issues and tore up brass. I've been breaking in my third, which has the Superlative Arms adjustable gas block... problem solved. The brass looks like it was fired in a bolt rifle, and it lands conveniently close now. I previously tried Slash's heavy buffer... Didn't reduce the over pressure. I ordered two more of these for my previous builds.

A perfect gas block
I have assembled three 5.56 uppers, a 16", 18", and 7.5", each using this Superlative Arms adjustable gas block. I like using lightweight BCGs, and they function perfectly with this block, really allowing you to find that sweet spot between soft recoil and solid, reliable ejection. The forward bleed-off is truly great, and as long as you don't bury the block deep inside a long hand guard, that extra carbon will just dirty the top of your barrel, and wipes right off. Installation is like any clamp-on block, and SA provides clear instructions and an extra long Allen wrench for easily adjusting the gas.

good gas block
this gas block works fine. I have it on a 300 blackout pistol under a 7" Midwest g3 keymod handguard which is the main reason for my review. brownells cust service incorrectly states that it will not fit under said handguard but it does nicely. I have several of these some with a lot of rounds through them will no problems so far. the only problem is availability.the picture included is the melonite version but is the same dimension as stainless.

Great adjustable gas block
Easy to install. Adjustable with out removing hand guard, long allen wrench included. Click detents are way better than just wondering how many turns you have made.

Best of both worlds
Good AR components in NZ are hard to come by and can really cost big bucks. It was a pleasure to find this cool adjustable gas block at a very good price. Found it easy to install and adjust, the blow off mode works well and soft to shoot, although I don't notice recoil in the 5.56/.223 cartridge anyway. No noticable lose of velocity or accuracy in the blow off mode. Looking to see how it runs on my 300AAC Blk/Out with a suppressor fitted.
