The ASAP QD (Ambidextrous Sling Attachment Point QD) allows a wide range of motion, enabling true ambidextrous weapon manipulation for both left and right handed shooters. Replacing the standard AR15/M4 carbine stock receiver end plate, the ASAP QD provides a tactical advantage by minimizing sling snagging and facilitating easy transition to and from weapon and reaction side shoulders. The ASAP QD works with one-point type slings with push-button quick disconnect sling swivels such as the MS4 GEN 2.


Made from precision cast QPQ salt bath nitride finished steel and compatible with both Mil-Spec and Commercial-Spec carbine receiver extensions.

  • The ASAP QD is NOT compatible with A1/A2 fixed stocks as well as any other similarly mounted stocks such as the Magpul PRS®, PRS® Lite, UBR® GEN2, MOE® Rifle, and MOE® Fixed Carbine Stocks.
  • NOTE: When the Castle Nut is properly torqued, staking is not required. However, if staking is desired, it is strongly recommended that it be done by a certified armorer or competent gunsmith. The extremely hard surface of the ASAP QD increases the difficulty of staking and the likelihood of damage during the procedure.

Brittle material won't stake. Very heavy.
Usually a big fan of Magpul products, I was very disappointed by this part.

Magpul ASAP Endplate
Poor quality material. This end plate cracks under staking. I’ve broke two of them. Finally spent the extra to get an FCD endplate. I would recommend getting an endlpate that is made of proper materials. Wish I would have known this before I used them in several builds.

Needs more ergonomic refinement
The position of the QD mechanism and sling interferes with the grip. The sling gets in position that gets in the way of the web of the hand and the grip. It will be very difficult to establish a grip with a MOE or similar due to the angle of the grip. A K2 or similar works a lot better but still when the sling is under tension it presses downwards against the web of the hand. Also, when the sling tension relaxes it falls behind the grip and in a hurry its difficult to get out of the way. This needs to be located at the side. This experience was using an MS4 sling and both the MOE and K2 grips.
