MIAD® GEN 1.1 GRIP KIT TYPE 1 FOR AR15/M4 Reviews & Ratings

The MIAD (Mission Adaptable) GEN 1.1 Grip is a drop-in replacement for the standard AR15 / AR10 grip, now available in two dedicated configurations to fit most receivers. It is designed to improve ergonomics with interchangeable front and rear straps for personalized hand fit, an aggressive texture for positive weapon control, and is compatible with all Magpul grip cores to adapt to various storage needs.

This update to the original MIAD has improved strap retention and also comes standard with the newest grip core that holds an included 1/2 oz. lubrication bottle.

Two sizes are available- this TYPE 1 Kit (MAG520) fits most 5.56x45 and 7.62x51 AR receivers and the TYPE 2 Kit (MAG521) which is required for some 7.62x51 size receivers*.

NOTE

This TYPE 1 Kit fits all AR15/M4's as well as many 7.62x51 variants such as the Aero Precision M5 308, CMMG MK3, CORE Rifle Systems CORE30, HK 417/MR762A1, LWRCI REPR, Mega Arms MATEN, POF P-308, Ruger SR-762, and SIG716.
The TYPE 2 Kit uses taller backstraps for optimized fit with certain 7.62x51 receivers such as the Armalite AR-10A/B/T, DPMS LR308, KAC SR25, LaRue OBR, LMT .308 MWS, Palmetto PA10, and S&W M&P10.
In general, the TYPE 1 Kit will fit most all 7.62x51 AR lower receivers but there may or may not be a gap between the backstrap's 'beavertail' and the receiver. This gap is purely aesthetic and will not affect function.

My favorite grip

The Magpul Miad grip out of all the grips I ever used. I like the angle of the grip as well of how you can customize it. Almost every rifle now has one and soon they will all have a Miad grip on them. I like to find something I like and stick with it so that all my rifles feel the same. No matter what one I pick up they are all familiar. I do the same with stocks, vertical fore grips, charging handles etc. If I had one complaint it would be the changed the base plate color to standard black.

Used on my .308 build

Makes a stable hand grip for the recoil of a .308. Also nice to have options for the handle storage compartment. The adjustable options made it easy to customize the grip size.

All the parts to make the perfect grip

I moved and had two ARs that needed to be upgraded from compliant grips. The MIAD design let me adjust the size and grip for my large hand. I have one with, and one without the finger groove. Quality is really good and the fir pas perfect.

Awesome Grip!

I love this grip! I put it on all of my rifles. I have big hands, so I use the arched backstrap to provide a hand-filling grip. This allows me to control the rifle much easier than the "skinny" factory grips.

Just about the only grip I run anymore.

Fits any hand great due the interchangeable backstrap and I love being able to keep an oil bottle in the grip. A little pricey compared to other offerings, but well worth it IMHO.

Nice Grip

Love it. Packaged are quite a few choices for backstrap (and lack thereof) and the option of a nub like the A2 grips. I've got mine set up slick; no backstrap and no nub since my hands are on the smaller end. Comes with a little bottle for lube that stows away inside, so that's a definite bonus as you can never have too much on hand. Works great on my AR10.
