PRACTICAL & TOUGH
Top quality design, materials, and workmanship Extremely robust alloy construction with steel roll pin and screw. Easy to install although there are no instructions included. All hardware is included, but you will need a 1/8" pin punch, hammer, and a 1/16" Allen key. Very useful for cold weather operation when wearing gloves. Wider than the G.I. trigger guard and I do wish that the edges were radiused more smoothly, but "as is" it does not cut up your hand or fingers. I would buy this again.
Great part
Fit and finish are excellent. Closes any gap between itself and a pistol grip (MIAD in my case). I put this in my AR10A Not only does it it allow ample room for gloved sausage fingers, it looks fantastic as well. My future AR15 builds will most likely have these.
Awesome product!
Awesome product! I like them so much I put them on all of my AR-15/AR-10 builds. Easy to install with great fit. Best fit I have found of any companies manufacturing these types of trigger guards. Brownells has the best prices on these.
The best for your mil-spec lower
Along with a 420 Stainless Steel Coiled Spring Pin, 1/8" Diameter, 5/8" Long, McMaster 93740A212, this makes two of my Nodak Spud receivers, ummmmm, NICE.
Great product!
I just installed this and I love it! Looks great and gave me plenty of room around the trigger.
Great product!
I made a good choice purchasing this trigger guard.
EXTREMELY Well Made and Great Design!!!
I have three AR-15's of differing calibers and have aluminum "upgrade" trigger guards on all of them. The three manufacturers of the guards in the order which I acquired them are Magpul, Knights Armament and Seekins Precision. While all three work great, the best two are DEFINITELY the Knights and the Seekins! The Seekins Precision guard fits amazingly well, with none of the "play" which I found with the Magpul guard. The shape is also better than the Magpul, allowing for more room in front of the trigger when wearing gloves. The only improvement I would recommend to Seekins is to do as Knights has and equip the front of the guard with a plunger type detent (as on the standard straight guard) so the guard can be quickly swung down out of the way if needed, instead of the set screw which it comes with. That is a relatively small consideration. The price is reasonable as well, being HALF the price of the Knights Armament guard. I would highly recommend this guard to anyone considering an upgrade from the standard straight AR-15 trigger guard.
Simple, and high quality.
Bought this instead of the Magpul, and I'm pretty happy with that decision. I think this is a better model in design aesthetics and does not have those tapered edges that the Magpul has. Fit and finish are top notch. I'd buy again.
An odd development.
I got one of these to go with a Seekins forged lower receiver. But I found out in short order that it didn't fit properly creating an annoying ledge right where it is least wanted. So I got a magpul polymer one that matched the color scheme of that rifle better and stuck it on an Aero Precision lower I picked up. It fits the Aero lower flawlessly!
Mixed Feelings
The trigger guard looks great but had problems. First, the set screw hole was not tapped (unthreaded). I contacted SP and they were great, sending me a new replacement. Install was straight forward and everything lined up perfectly. Then I took it to the range for some practice and it cut up my middle finger. The edges were that sharp! Checked the original part and it was just as sharp. They anodized sharp edges as a finished product which is unacceptable. I ended up sanding down the sharp edges and painting it black.
