What Reviewers Are Saying
Product Quality
65%
Many reviews highlight the high-quality construction of the guide rod assembly, especially in comparing it to the OEM plastic versions. Users appreciate its durability, particularly the stainless steel material, which avoids issues like breaking that may occur with plastic parts.
Performance Issues
40%
Several reviews mention problems with feeding, particularly when using lighter 115 grain ammunition. These failures can be critical, as some users noted that the stiffer spring impacted the gun's cycle, leading to potential reliability concerns in real-world situations.
Installation and Fit
55%
Most customers found installation to be easy, although some noted the assembly was stiff initially and required a break-in period. Importantly, reviewers emphasized ensuring compatibility with their specific Glock models to avoid fit issues.
Noise and Break-In
30%
Some users experienced noise from the assembly during the initial use, attributed to the spring rubbing against the guide rod. However, this was typically resolved after a period of break-in, with the sound diminishing over time.
Value for Money
60%
Many reviewers felt that the product provided good value for its price, particularly in comparison to OEM parts. The perceived improvement in performance and reliability justifies the cost for those looking to upgrade their Glock.
Way higher stiffness that necessary
Dont get me wrong, these are really nicely made guide rod spring assemblies, but please be aware that the spring weight is much higher than the factory spring. As such I found that I had a lot of failures to feed when using typical 115 grain practice ammo. They seem to be fine with 147 grain self-defense ammo but I got a failure to feed on almost every shot with this spring. The spring is simply too stiff to cycle enough to feed the next round, every time with 115 grain ammo. I would probably recommend a replacement factory spring over this unless you test this gun out and have 100% nonissues with the ammo you intend to use. Last thing you want is a gun that becomes a single shot, when youre life depends on it. YMMV but if your going to use this spring be SURE you gun works 100%.
Scratching Finish, Recommend Sanding
The metal rod is turned in a lathe and not finished. It has small ridges that vibrate against your slide. I recommend removing the spring and attaching the rod in a drill or drill press and turning it while sanding with 300/600/1500 grit sand paper to smooth it out. It's much quieter now.
