I still think this is a great product, but 2 years from purchase I have had to take the sight on and off a couple times. Today the hex screws stripped. I called A.R.M.S. directly and they are sending me replacements free of charge. If those strip I will just go and buy some higher grade screws at the hardware store.

Fit my full countour barrel just fine. I used with hand guard cap so the included shim was not needed but glad to have it in the parts box. Lined up fine and tightened up perfectly. No stripped screws like others stated nor did it break when tightening. This sight is rugged enough to stand up to abuse for over a year of being banged around on the atv, ground, truck, trees, etc. chasing hogs in east Texas. I would buy again.

As usual, A.R.M.S. has provided another incredible piece of machining. I have never been hung up on the look of the standard AR triangular front sight, though I know many people who are. I just purchased one of these for a "traditional" style build and I am amazed. I have used flip up sights from other quality manufacturers and this one is by far the most solid of them all. Where other companies rely on a detent to hold the sight up, this one actually uses the geometric strength of the triangle to hold it in place. You can bang on the front or the rear of it and it does not move at all! Yet one correct downward push on the right place (directly behind the sight ears) and you can easily fold this sight down with a single finger or thumb! It really is slick, and should be almost impossible to accidentally fold! In addition to having a near-perfect look, having the mounting tabs for a correct front sling swivel is a purist's dream. If you want your AR to look like an AR and not some mutant, but still wish you could get that sight out of the way then this IS the sight for you, bar none. It's even machined with details that make it appear like the original forgings, a nice touch! The only downsides I could find to this sight are that because of the way it folds down onto itself it does not fold into as low of a profile as a GG&G or YHM front sight. Also, if you are the type who uses a level to make sure your front sight is square to your receiver, you will find there is hardly any place on this sight you can use to level with. As such, you may want to use a gas block aligner like the one from UniqueTek that Brownells sells (100-015-040WB), though I always seem to have troubles when I try to use those myself (ha ha ha). As a final nod to A.R.M.S. quality, this sight not only included the wrench, it included the proper barrel shim to use if you need to install the sight without a handguard cap. Definitely a valuable thing to keep in your spare parts bin for later if you don't use it now! The wrench and screws were both fine on my unit, as expected. It doesn't take a lot of torque to make this thing stay in place forever! Overall, I still prefer my sights to fold a little lower (and cost a little less), but I would not hesitate to buy another one of these if I need that classic look and no-compromise performance! I purchased this product about a month ago. The reason I got it was because my A-2 front sight was slightly canted to the left, and in order to repair it I would have had to send it back and have it repaired...I liked the looks of this front sight, so to kill two birds with one stone, I decided to just get this front sight to correct the "cant" and upgrade the front sight at the same time. The old sight came off very easily, and the new one went on with about an hours worth of careful work. I had to be careful and make sure the gas port was still lined up with the hole in the barrel. If it's off I cannot tell because the rifle functions flawlessly. I starting sighting my rifle in at the range the next day with the front sight post flush, and the rear sight in the center. Three clicks to the left at the rear sight and three clicks down at the front sight, she's dead on. The sight folds easily, and flips up easily. Very solid, and personally I like the fact that it folds away out of the picture with my primary red dot optic mounted. This is the ONLY product out there that works and retains the bayonet lug. All other vendors that have anything similar are perpetually out of stock or backordered and the lug is not there. Buy this sight, you won't be disappointed.

I have this installed on ALL 3 of my AR's. I've always love the traditional A Post look for the front sight.

It is easy to install, extremely strong, lines up perfectly, easy to use and, quite frankly, a great addition of you want the sight to get out of the way for scope use. I love it. No complaints whatsover!

I love the old school look. Also flips back nice and neat out of the way. Have ya ever held something that just makes you think. Wow this is really well made Very smooth with great machining 5 stars.

I really like this sight. Once up it does look like a standard front sight base with classic "Issue" lines, yet folds out of the way for use with Aimpoint, Short Dot, or Leupold MR/T.
