Powerful weapon-mounted light fully illuminates target with an amazing 300 lumens of intense, white light. Ambidextrous, momentary or constant-on paddle switch lets you control light output to match your needs. High-output C4® LED lamp with impact-resistant Borofloat glass lens and deep-dish parabolic reflector produces a uniform beam with peripheral illumination and no hot spots or shadows. TLR-1 produces continuous output. TLR-1s adds a strobe setting instantly activated by two, rapid, successive taps on the paddle. Solid-state current regulation system maintains consistent illumination level through battery life cycle. Lightweight, machined 6000 series aluminum construction doesn’t upset weapon balance, yet withstands hard field use. Locking bar system has interchangeable locating keys for mounting to MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny, Glock-style, S&W 99, S&W TSW, and Beretta 90-Two accessory rails. Fits all holsters designed to accept pistols mounted with the earlier Streamlight M-3/-5/-6 series lights.

Excellent frame weight

The light mounting and battery operations are not intuitive, but the light attaches securely and works well. I bought the light to add weight to the front of my P320. It does help with muzzle control.

Great Light with a few minor issues

As far as performance, lumens and battery life, the TLR-1 rates 5's across the board. Once the light is fixed on the firearm, it is rock solid and not subject to loss. It's rugged and can take abuse. On the downside: There is no quick detach feature for the light. For those who like to detach the light and carry in a holster with keeping the light in a pocket as needed, this light is not quick to affix like the Insight MX3. For permanent or long term attachment, this light beats out the competition. The instructions suck. Opening the battery compartment should be intuitive. It is not. And the instructions do not help. I looked up the correct method on youtube. For a well-engineered light, it is a fail on instructions. The attachment method section of the instructions are not well written either.

Great Product

This is my 2nd one that I own. I love both of them. The TLR-1 and 1s are basically the same light. They are both super bright, and it is great that streamlight doubled the light output from 160 lumen to 300 lumen. It is a noticable difference. The C4 LED is a great LED for a gun light. Surefires are nice lights, but they are way overpriced.

great light

I'v had this light for 2yrs and use it frequently on my glock 22 and stag ar15. Easy to mount and unmount. secure on the rail. very reliable. Just keep extra batteries handy.

A bright light at a great price.

I've also used the Surefire X200 and X300. I think this one is as bright as the X300 without the price. The only down side is the light activation switch is not push down like the Surefire. This one must go up on the left or down on the right, and the opposite direction is the constant on.
