Overall, the consensus leans towards disappointment.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Product Quality
80%
A majority of reviewers express dissatisfaction with the overall quality of the stock, citing flimsy materials and non-mil-spec components. The buttplate stands out as a common complaint for its softness and tendency to degrade quickly under normal use, leading many to recommend alternatives.
Fit and Compatibility
50%
While some users note that the stock fits well on the receiver and can be used with existing parts, issues arise with compatibility when attempting to secure the stock tightly. The varying quality of screws and the lack of standardization further complicate its use, especially for those familiar with military specifications.
Replacement Parts

Many reviews suggest replacing the buttplate and other components with higher-quality alternatives to enhance the stock's functionality. The ability to adapt the stock with better parts is seen as a necessary workaround for its initial shortcomings.

Durability Concerns

But stock
Compared to the stocks you sold a year ago this new one is a piece of junk and I will be sending it back you can do better than this

Poor quality and not to spec
Short answer: DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK. If you want to know why, read-on. Should've read the review and hold-off until higher quality parts become available. Where do I begin? Like every one said, the butt-pad is flimsy, soft and rubbery. I ordered the correct A1 stock screw and as I try to tighten it down, it starts to chew into the butt pad. I'm not surprised if I tighten a little harder it will eat right through. The trap door... The way it closes is not mil spec. It does not have the metal latch to secure the trapdoor to the butt-pad, just a rubbery latch with little to almost no spring tension. The screw included are not mil-spec either: The one that secure the stock to receiver extension (buffer tube) should have a hole in the middle and should be a slot screw, but the screw included is a hex screw without drain hole in the middle. The sling loop and screw securing it to the stock are both not military spec: hex screw instead of slot screw and loop itself looks funny. As I mention right at beginning, please spend your hard earn money at something that's of higher quality.

Buttpad ruins it
The stock itself is ok. It is the correct A1 length. The buttplate is a flimsy, rubbery piece of garbage that gets drilled through by the install screw. Would not recommend. Brownells should discontinue selling this product. If you want an A1 length fixed stock for your rifle, get a Brownells retro A1 stock instead.

Absolutely hot garbage
I needed to do a build with an A1 stock length and a weighted stock, so I tried this. Big mistake. Plastic stock that I wouldn't put on a kid's airsoft. Buttplate was flimsy and didn't fit the stock, the sling loop went from side to side in a 270 arc, eventually working loose, and would have cut any sling you put through it. The trapdoor seemed to be made out of the same sort of vinyl usually found in electrical tape, but less useful. I tried to modify it by replacing the buttplate, and that was useless becase nothing on this thing mached any standard, milspec or commercial. The first buttplate slipped right off the end of the buffer tube screw, which was handy because the screw was stuck. Then the original lower screw crossthreaded in the sling loop. I'm returning it to Brownells with a request that they never sell it again.

Poor quality stock
This is a very cheaply made stock. The trap door hinge is simply the same rubber piece used for the door. The attachment system is poor and the stock can be easily pulled off the buffer tube when you don't want it to come off! ( see other review ). The sling attachment is made of "square" material instead of round, rod type material. It should cut through a sling in a matter of hours.

warning
This is a very cheaply made stock. The buttstock screw goes all the way through the butt pad and then all you have to do is pull back on the stock and it comes off completly. The only way to avoid this issue is not screw it in enough to tighten the buttstock. This stock is pure junk and I would'nt even want my enemies to use it
