1911 45 ACP SUPPRESSOR READY THREADED BARRELS

1911 45 ACP SUPPRESSOR READY THREADED BARRELS Reviews & Ratings

Identical to the standard drop-in Ed Brown barrel, but longer length and threaded for use with suppressors. Thread size is 0.578 x 28 tpi RH. Includes link, link pin, bushing and thread protector. Barrel accuracy comes from using the highest quality materials and manufacturing methods. Ed Brown Products is committed to both. The barrels are made from T-416 modified, gun barrel quality stainless steel bar stock, just like a benchrest rifle barrel. T-416 is certified pure, there are no foreign materials, and no hard or soft spots to worry about. It is stress-relieved and heat-treated prior to final rifling and refinishing. Ed Brown barrels are precision machine cut from a 3 pound chunk bar of this top quality steel. Ed Brown barrels are rifled by precision broach in the original six lands and grooves, one turn in sixteen, left hand twist as originally designed by John Browning. This deep cut, broached rifling gives superior accuracy with all types of bullets, including lead. Ed Brown barrels are heat-treated by an aerospace certified heat treat facility, and sub-zero frozen for maximum strength and stress relief. This means more accuracy and longer barrel life to the shooter. Ed Brown has also cut the dimensions to max tolerance on the outside of the barrel. This means less fitting work for you, and more accuracy. A suppressor equipped with a Nielsen device (such as 276-000-055) is REQUIRED for reliability in a 1911. This is also referred to as a booster, kicker, or Linear Inertial Decoupler.

SPECS: Fits - Government or Commander Slides. Chambered in 45ACP, with a 1-16 twist. Muzzle threads are 0.578x28 threads per inch.

Does not drop in
Does not fit. Will need some to a lot of fitting. If you buy a drop and barrel you should not expect a whole lot of accuracy but you should expect it to drop in thats the trade-off. However this one doesnt drop it.

1911's with bushing barrels beware
I am giving this 2 stars as a result of a few factors. -First there is another customer review here mentioning the fact that they have an AAC-Ti-Rant .45 suppressor, and that it does not work with this barrel. I have a Springfield TRP (non railed) so it is a bushing barrel and I have a Ti-Rant suppressor. I called Brownells and asked about this being a possible issue and the person I spoke to told me they used to work for Ed Brown and never heard of this issue. So I rolled the dice. The Barrel fits but will require fitment by a smith. The issue is the Ti-Rant piston makes significant contact with the barrel bushing. Additionally cycling the firearm through its battery the guide rod hits the end cap of the suppressor. I had to go back to my gunsmith and we problem solved this, however the initial fit of the barrel was not wonderful and I am having to perform in my opinion a lot of extra "break-in" so I cannot say I am pleased initially with my purchase. Now if you have read this far AND are in the same boat as I am, here is what I did to resolve the problems with this barrel. -We ground down the guide rod about 2mm, it does not look noticeably different from stock and there is acceptable clearance between the guide rod and suppressor end cap. -Next, rather than grinding down the bushing / removing materiel from the firearm I had the gunsmith grind about 2.5mm of metal away on the suppressor piston/booster. Leaving about .5mm gap between the O-ring and the end of the piston. There is a .75mm gap between the piston and the bushing now. I have test fired for functionality and all seems well. If I can edit this I will add before and after pictures. -TL:DR- -Barrel fitment is subpar and I would not call it a drop in replacement -Brownells employees are not knowledgeable about their products (Take info from them with a grain of salt)
