Bad screws
These screws that were recommended for this build were too long and you don’t show any that were right for Remington actions. I had to order them from a machine tool company. Very disappointed in customer service because they don’t seem to know your products good enough. I was told that you did carry any tigger pins for my build only to find they were included with the barreled action. We already order pins from a machine tool company of your employees advice.
Shallow Hex Recess
The recess wall depth and effective depth is approximately 3/32 of an inch or 2 mm. I can't trust it will hold a hex bit for a torque wrench without stripping. Then how do I get the mount screw out? Might be serviceable for a wooden stock, but then what's the point of long mount screws for a Rem. 700 ADL?
Screws are way too long
Bought these for my Rem. 700 BDL as the originals are too short for the Boyds hardwood stock. Discription says they are 1/4 inch longer. My calipers say that they are .650 longer (more than 5/8) I can cut these down but care will have to be taken to not ruin the heat treat and fine threads.
really wanted standard length screws,
I used these screws on a Cooper M57 17HMR. I would have liked them to be standard Rem length. I had to cut them up to 1/2" and chase the threads to get them to work. The postage was excessive. They could have been shipped in a small padded envelope for first class postage, instead of standard shipping costs. For these reasons, I would not recommend them
Don't do it.
Same as the previous review... the hex holes are half as deep as the factory screws. I lightly snugged one screw during the bedding process (we're talking 25-30 inch pounds) and that's all it took to strip the head. Hardened steel so I couldn't drill it out. Had to use a die grinder and burr to pop the head off. Not fun while working on a new benchrest stock. Not to mention damaging the escutcheon.
Worst screws yet.....
I ordered 2 sets of these screws to accommodate 2 custom remington 700 projects. I used the first set in bedding the first gun and ended up with a destroyed stock due to a serious flaw with these screws. The socket in the head of these screws are VERY shallow compared to the screws that are coming with the Rem 700's from the factory. I ended up using the second set to finish the first gun after a new stock was brought in. Its a great concept but the heads are not up to par on these screws.
