Cool, but could be better
Let’s get my gripes out of the way so I can talk about what I like.
-corner chamfers are a neat touch, but I wish the edges were rounded off. They’re just a little too aggressive for my liking.
-RMR cut is the reason I bought this slide and I like that the screw holes act as recoil bosses, but I’d feel more confident if this slide also utilized recoil bosses in the front for the RMR holes.
The good:
-RMR screw holes act as recoil bosses
-Front serrations are a nice touch
-everything is a good, tight fit.
-no surprises
The picky:
-I bought the windowed version of this slide to utilize a ported barrel, but brownells has yet to sell one for the Gen 3 Glock 17

What a bargain! The slide fit the frame perfectly. No fitting hassle's. Having my slide
milled would have cost more more that this slide. In addition, the slide has forward
cocking serration's. I could not be more satisfied.

Good fit and finish. Assembled easily. The hole for the extractor leg seems oversized - had trouble getting the Brownells extractor to work, so dropped in a Glock factory one and solved the problem. Unfortunately the new extractor wouldn’t work in the stock slide, so something is off. The thread size for the RDS is also smaller than the threads on any other pistol I’ve seen. The included screws work, but finding spares is a bit of a pain.
Works as intended
Slide that accepts RMR footprint and it does that. Only downside is it is not an exact Glock slide replica so it doesnt not fit some holsters made Glock specific.

You'd think it would come with a blank plate to fill the rmr cut when you're not using an optic...but no.

The product description says this slide is manufactured to factory Glock specifications "inside". (quotation marks added). It is enough larger than factory specs outside to require adjustment of the retention screws of the holsters I use. Not a big deal just unexpected and annoying. Using a factory 17 (or 19) requires adjusting each time. That's the only reason I did not give it 5 stars. The rear sight dovetail was tighter than I'm used to on Glocks and I had to file the suppressor height sight I used. The RMR cut fit my SRO just fine. The front serrations are great. Factory Glock slide parts, including the barrel, fit just fine and the gun functions and shoots just as well as with the factory slide. Though some reviewers had problems inserting the channel liner, using the Brownell tool I had no issues. I would recommend this to a friend.

Excellent option at great price
After becoming proficient with irons the next step for me was to move to a red dot on my g17. I didnt want to cut my original slide due to cost, time and permanence of the mod. Other slide options at higher price points may be "better" but I'm a stock glock kind of guy so the brownells rmr slide fit the bill for me as far as price, and function. The slide cuts are very useful but also are a bit aggressive causing some extra holster wear, which I dont mind. All the parts fit smooth including the rmr, no movement at all. Ok so now the range report. Took the newly built slide with stock glock barrel and frame to the 25 yard line and zero'd the rmr. Not only did I have zero malfunctions but after slaving the dot to my xs suppressor height sights I i had a golf ball sized hole of 15 rounds after maybe 2 or 3 clicks of windeage adjustment. So that was 200 rounds at the range, who cares, 200 rounds ain't nothing. Well this weekend I put another 800 rounds through my brownells equipped rmr g17 for CarryTrainers 2 day pistol class. Heat, dirt, no cleaning in between. Not one malfunction not caused by me. Now the cons. And there are some. Not all holsters will work with this slide. This isnt advertised and it's a bit annoying. But I found TRex arms ragnarok works great. The other con was more frustrating. The supplied screws by brownells for the rmr were short and would barely grab 2 threads with the rmr seal plate installed and the trijicon supplied screws are of a different pitch than the brownells. I ended up going to a specialty nut and bolt store and getting screws 1 step, in LENGTH not pitch size, larger. 4-40x3/8in I believe fit the best. This cost me nothing as the store owner gave them to me (probably 20cents in screws). All that aside I highly recommend this slide. For the price, Its doing everything I've asked of it. After 1000 trouble free rounds I almost trust it for defensive use. Maybe another 1000 rounds or so. Hope this long winded review helps someone! God bless

A little rust and some areas of poor finish but overall a good deal for the money. Especially when it's on sale.
