Looks good, got good reviews. Haven't had a chance to test it yet...
BCG
The bolt carrier group seemed to be very well put together, but it needed to be greased very tight
Works
This is my first experience with an AR308 and all I really know is that it chambers, shoots and ejects like it should. It's a little stiff to pull out of battery, but I'm hoping that's just the tight fit that needs to be broken in.
.308 nickel boron BCG
I have three of these and the latest one would not cycle. Checked gas system and it was GTG so I examined BCG. Tried other two BC's in upper and they worked. Removed carrier key and found carbon deposits and no gasket sealant. replaced key, used Permatex gasket seal and thread locker on screws installed to 50 inch pounds. Now it works just fine. I purchased another sources BC and after 18 rounds it stopped cycling as well. Removing key I found solvent collected under it and again no sealant so I replaced it as I did above, have yet to test fire. Also, both BCG's passed the gas ring test. My concern is that the supplier for Brownells and ****** has a quality control problem. Aside from this , love Brownells!
Works great
Giving 4 stars because when reading reviews about bcg online i saw that i overpaid for it, most people both these on sale or with coupons and paid a lot less than i did. But it still runs great in my aero m5, zero issues so far.
Bang for the buck BCG
This bolt will work for those wanting to run 6.5 Creedmoor. The firing pin hole measured .70. The finish is nice however I noticed some mill markings on the top of the BCG just in front of and below the gas key that I wasn't very happy about but I can live with. Overall A really good BCG and if need be I would buy one again.
Know what it fits
I bought headspace gauges for the first time ever with this BCG. It fits and is correctly headspace for Faxon .308 and 6.5 barrels, and also fits a Troy .308 and a Bushmaster .308 barrel. It will NOT even close in an Aero Precision barrel.
Decent for the money
I purchased the BCG for a build off an Aero Upper and Lower set. The BCG is nice for the money, however my gas key hole was .007" undersized which resulted in the destruction of a gas tube. Fortunatly I had a reamer (.1805") for gas tubes and was able to use the reamer to bring the gas key into spec. I chambered and headspaced the barrel to this bolt with no problems and once I get the kinks worked out I believe this rifle will be very reliable and long lasting. Overall I am happy with the bolt due to its price point and decent quality. I believe I got a gas key that simply had a little build up of NiB in the bore causing it to be out of spec. I spoke to tech support about this issue and they were very helpful and willing to exchange it immediately, however I want to try and make this one work due to my barrel being headspace to this bolt.
