Meh
Does it get the job done? Yes.
Does the NiBo finish last? Not really. 300 rounds through the rifle and you can't really tell that its a NiBo coated carrier even after thorough cleaning.
Does the bolt head provide correct head spacing? Yes. But the machining finish on the bolt face leaves a lot to be desired. Even with low pressure rounds, expect to have faint witness marks in your case head from where the bolt face was machined.
I've kept the carrier, but I've swapped the bolt head out for a JPE unit. It's actually improved the cycling and there are not minor gouges in my case heads.
Aero 308 build
Bolt is great. Finish is excellent, perfect performance, ejects properly. 3 stars because Brownells didn't ship my order for days because it was "on hold". Problem is they failed to tell me this for days until I called and asked why. Also I paid over $200 and a few days later it's on sale for $160....
First impression
Havent shot it yet, the finish is ok, minor tool marks , some sharp edges and corners, It Wont allow the Stag 10 upper side Port Cover close.
Nice Bolt but needs some TLC
I have several of these bolts and have had the same issue with both of them. Looking at the bolt face of the Extractor, the bevel on the Extractor does not line up with the diameter of the bolt recess. With the Extractor bevel not in the correct place the round is picked up and slammed into the chamber. The Extractor does not catch the edge of the shell and will not eject the shell. A simple fix is to remove the Extractor and increase the bevel so it will slip over the shell and seat it in the bolt recess. A good value BCG but not Military Spec. After the modification the bolt works without issue.
