Simple as that!
Dropped the new barrel into the G23. Loaded G17 and G19 mags with Remington 115gr FMJ, Hornady 124gr XTP, Hornady Critical Defense 115gr, Hornady Critical Duty 135gr, and Winchester 147gr JHP White Box. Function was flawless with all. Tack driver accuracy. No extraction issues w/ the original G23 kit. Couldn't be happier!
Update
This is an update to my previous review on the G23 conv. barrel. I have around 1k rounds through this barrel now and have yet to have a malfunction with it. I did change to a 336 Glock ejector and the 9mm spring load bearing with the original 40 SW extractor which has the most consistent ejection pattern, even better than a 9mm extractor for whatever reason. This barrel is very accurate and reliable. It has no abnormal wear marks or anything else after roughly 1k rounds of various types of ball ammo, steel cased, defensive hollowpoints, you name it. I now carry this pistol as a 9mm with complete confidence.
Upgrade to an Old Glock
I have old G23 that has had thousands of 40 S&W rounds fired through it and wanted to use it some more. Ordered this barrel Sunday night and it was in my mail box on Thursday morning. I went straight out and shot 6 magazines of different types of ammo. Very accurate and i had zero malfunctions. I did notice that about every 3rd piece of brass would hit me in the face or chest so i will install a 9mm ejector to correct this issue. The barrel seems to have slighter tighter lockup than the factory barrel and is beautifully machined and finished in black nitride. You wont be disappointed in this product.
Just great!
Have a Gen 3 G23 that was very tempermental and failures to feed with things on rail. Known issue. Was going to sell and decided to try this. Very glad I did. Added Glock 9mm mag, 30274 ejector (From 9mm gen 4 housing) and this barrel. Works flawlessly and getting one hole groups at range. Tested with HSTs and 115 target loads. All run like a glock should now with Streamlight 8AG on rail. Very pleased. House gun restored.
9mm barrel for Glock 23
This is a excellent conversion barrel for Glock 23. Drops right in and works flawlessly. I fired 300 rounds through it without a hiccup. I would highly recommend this for any G23 owner. Very accurate and cheaper to shoot than .40 S&W ammunition. No need to change the recoil spring either.
Good quality conversion barrel
Review after 1 box of CCI 115 grain FMJ ammo and one box of Remington UMC 115 grain FMJ's. Ran through 9mm magazines with no other changes (stock Glock 23 recoil spring, extractor, ejector). No FTF, FTE's. Accurate. Would recommend.
High Quality
I bought this conversion barrel for my Glock 23 to take advantage of a plentiful supply of 9mm ammo at a lower cost than .40 S&W. The barrel is nicely finished and drops right in. You do need 9mm magazines for proper functionality. I put about 200 rounds of brass and aluminum cased ammunition in the first session. I had one malfunction with the aluminum cased ammo. All of the brass cased ammo worked fine. Point of impact and grouping appeared similar to the .40 S&W so no sight or aiming adjustment was necessary. As a practice barrel it serves the purpose. I would, however, not use this for critical defensive use except where necessary.
Good barrel so far
I put this barrel into a Gen 2 Glock 23 and I shot 100 rounds through it. I fired 50 rounds of Federal HST and 50 of Winchester white box. It functioned perfectly and the fit seems good. Ejection was a bit anemic and I may put in a 9mm ejector to see if that helps but I didn't have any FTEs. I did not need to change the recoil spring or extractor as those were the same for the 9mm as well as the 40S&W.
