The Brownells M4 Stripped Upper Receiver is that component - the perfect starting point for many an AR-15 build. Starting with a 7075 T6 aluminum forging, our stripped M4 flattop upper is precision machined to final dimensions that make it compatible with the multitude of available "mil-spec" AR-15 components. It has a matte black, Type III hardcoat anodized finish, mirroring the military requirement.

Tight tolerances. Within mil-spec?

The Faxon barrel I have won't go in all the way and it won't come out now either even with armorers grease. The fit is too tight! Closing it on an Aero lower takes some force and some force again to open it because again the fit is too tight. I'm dreading when I actually have to install the dust cover and forward assist.
