DELUXE SNAP CAPS DUMMY ROUNDS

DELUXE SNAP CAPS DUMMY ROUNDS Reviews & Ratings

The spring-loaded “primers” in these snap caps act much like a live primer and cushion the blow so firing pin and bushing damage won’t occur. Bright color and “different” feel to prevent mixing with live rounds or function-testing dummies. (Don’t use snap caps as dummies - they don’t duplicate loaded round weight/balance).

SPECS: Brass base, plastic body.

Triple-K .38 No Good
Bought a set to dry fire in a S&W Model 64. After a few minutes the plungers backed out and cylinder bound up. Rec'd a replacement set and they did the same thing. The plastic construction does not hold up to dry firing. Find another brand.

First Shot broke it
Purchased a pair of these and pulled the trigger and the "primer" went all the way into the cartridge. Looks like the spring broke and I was not able to fix this. The second one seems to be working. "Fired" it a dozen more times" Not happy

Not good in auto-loaders
These snap-caps fail at the base and split open where the plastic meets the brass leaving the spring and pivot falling into the action. Suspect the force of the bolt closing on the snap-cap may lead to the damage. If any, use in a bolt-action hunting rifle only. Not good in auto-loaders

Diameter does not match a real cartridge
Bought these because I am respringing my 1911 for +P ammo. Some of them are badly oversized in diameter and jam so badly in my chamber that I have to disassemble and remove the barrel to pry them out of the chamber! :-(

JUNK!
The brass part that takes the blow of the firing pin worked it's way out just enough to lock up the S&W M&P I was dry firing. Less then 500 blows to achieve this feat.
