good concept, POORLY executed
first of all, the front sight does NOT fit the 336 XLR. this should be clearly stated in product description. I had to wait 2 weeks to get the correct front sight directly from XS. filing of the frontmost hole was necessary to allow all the holes to be aligned. fitting was also necessary for the piece which installs in the marlin factory rear sight dovetail. the worst part, however, is that it does not fit the receiver/barrel height difference. when you screw the rail to the receiver, the forward section is slightly elevated off the barrel. the rail then bends downward when you tighten down the forward-most screw to the barrel. i tried mounting a scope and it could not be zeroed since the rail was not level on the rifle. now i will have to sand down the bottom of the receiver portion of the rail to make the rail level on the rifle. this has been such a headache. i wish they would just make it to the proper tolerances so it does not require all kinds of gunsmithing to get it to fit.
