The lockup on a S&W revolver is at the front and rear of the extractor rod, and even a slightly bent one can cause difficulty in lockup. The Brownells Yoke/Crane Alignment Tool enables a gunsmith to more easily and precisely align the crane in a matter of minutes without "guesswork". Precision ground and hardened to within .0005" on all critical dimensions. Full instructions come with each tool. These Yoke/ Crane Alignment Tools are hardened to Rc 52-54 to maintain exact specs. The #1 alignment tool is for use with the S&W J Frame (Centerfire models only), and the #2 alignment tool is for use with the S&W K, L, and N frames.

A "MUST-HAVE" FOR S&W REVOLVERS !!!!!!!!

PURCHASED MINE IN THE EARLY 1990'S & USED IT TODAY (NOV 7, 2017) TO CHECK YOKE / CRANE ALIGNMENT ON AN EARLY POST-WW2, S&W - M&P .38 SPECIAL. CYLINDER WOULD NOT CLOSE NOR OPEN EASILY INTO THE FRAME. GAUGE REVEALED THE YOKE WAS SLIGHTLY BENT DOWNWARD, JUST A FEW .000" & WAS EASY TO CORRECT !!!!!!!!! THIS IS SOMETHING THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DO ACCURATELY WITH JUST YOUR EYES---THE ALIGNMENT GAUGE NEVER LIES & IS NEVER WRONG. SO QUIT ARGUING WITH IT !!!!!! A MOST WORTHWHILE INSPECTION GAUGE IF YOU WORK ON K,L,& N-FRAME SMITH & WESSON D/A REVOLVERS.

Well made, doesn't fit

Appears very well made, however the tool is too big or my yoke is too small. Debating on whether to ream the yoke. Be aware of this possibility.
