Best trigger upgrade for the XD
Night and day difference after installing this trigger upgrade. I bought two of these kits. Easy install or take to your gunsmith

Well worth it
I'm no gunsmith but this is easy enough to install. Takes some patience to fit the pieces properly without taking off too much but it is well worth the time. The trigger pull is noticeably much lighter, the break is much more crisp, and pre travel and over travel are minimized greatly. I was going to adjust my rear sight because I tend to shoot left with all handguns but with this trigger I'm back in the bullseye with much tighter groups. Go slow with the fitting, I had to remove almost the entire raised ridge on the side of the sear, a very small amount from the back of the sear so the grip safety wouldn't stick, and some on the back of the trigger over travel stop.
Powder River Ultimare Match Trigger
Just finished installing this trigger in an older Springfield XD 45. Trigger pull was reduced 48% from factory pull of 7 pounds. Pre-travel was also reduced by roughly 50%. These specs were exactly as advertised by Powder River. The sear, striker safety lever and integral over-travel on the back of the replacement trigger all had to be fit by hand. The trickiest part of the job is fitting the striker safety lever to the pistol. If the safety lever does not depress far enough to clear the striker safety mounted in the slide, you're going to have one hell of a time getting the slide back off the frame of the pistol. Pay attention to the amount of downward travel in the original striker safety lever in relation to the back slide rail. In my pistol the original safety lever was pretty close to flush with the top of the frame rail. I duplicated the same approximate distance of downward travel on the replacement part. I recommend a good oil stone for use on the side of the sear and small reset tab on the inside of the safety lever. A file works just fine for filing the over-travel stop on the back side of the replacement trigger. Read the manufacturer's instructions carefully. Patience is a virtue on this job. You can always take a little more material off. It's gonna be hell getting any material to go back on.
Excellent trigger!
It took me about 4 hours to install because I was very careful not to remove too much material. But the results were worth it. Small pre travel, very short reset, and no over travel. Make sure to leave gun in freezer for a few hours and then check function. Because of the contacting polymer, a perfectly working fit at room temp might not fire the striker in the cold. When that happens, stick a tiny punch/allen key into the lower left hole in the back cover to release the sear for takedown. Then file down trigger stop some more and do the freeze check till it works. Now I'm ready for Canadian winters. :) Great kit!!!
This is the best quality available A+
I install this new trigger and immediately there is a big difference in trigger pull and reset it's incredible I don't have any more words to describe how good this new trigger feels I will recommend these match trigger to anyone looking for upgrading their XD Springfield you won't waste your money.
Best money I spent on my gun.
My grouping improved immensely. Loaned it to a friend who had a Croatia xd 9 and his shooting improved by 50%. Easy to shoot bullseye for me at 10 yards. When you have a long creep in trigger your hands make your pistol rise just enough to impede aiming, this helps eliminate that and over travel. It takes time to do it right, about 3 hours but way worth it. If the gun does not shoot check to see if you taken enough off on the sear or back of the trigger, check trigger first.A file or grinding stone is a must. Use welding puddy in back of trigger if you took off too much to shape and sand down. What I do not like is the kit trigger is made of polymer, I wish they found away to make it metal with a pin to adjust around the safety.
Love this trigger
All I can say is this trigger is awesome not a single regret when it comes the purchase of this product, in fact I have bought two, one for each gun. If you thinking about buying one don't hesitate, you won't regret it.
For the price it's NOT very "Precision"
While once it's fitted into the pistol it gives an amazing change to the trigger system the kit is NOT very "Precision" when you have to do a bunch of unnecessary fitting to get the product to the end result! Trigger over travel, Sear reset and also had to polish sear and fit grip safety. For the price they ask it should be much simpler I'd think! I don't mind doing the fitting but I would recommend this product a lot more if it were more affordable...
