GREAT LIGHT
This is a great light. I've had mine mounted on my AR15 for two + years now (and about 3,000 rounds) and it hasn't failed, and the beam is bright. I mine is mounted at 9-o'clock on the left side. The lens sits about 1" from my muzzle brake if I'm not suppressed. The mode switch is on the left side of the light, which for me, is the bottom. With the switch pointing to the rear of the rifle, a short push gives you momentary on, or until you let off. Flip the switch pointing forward, and it's click on then click off. On the rear behind the thumb pad is a bar that you can flip up to prevent turning it on. It will still come on if you do manage to still press it but you'd really have to want to. I mounted mine far forward because I don't want any splash lighting coming back at me. It takes a pounding there and has never failed. Any carbon buildup easily wipes off with a dot of BreakFree on a cloth.
Great, durable light
I'm assuming the low reviews had a bad run of lights. I have had my WML for 2 years now and it has proven through very tough use that it will be a long time tool. The beam spill and hotspot are ideal and the battery life is superb for a weapon light. The construction is nice and the ergonomics of the light switch are great for almost any spot on your weapon. I'll be buying more of them.
great
didn't buy it here but thought people would like to know that these lights are very good except that unless you leave the front cap un-screwed the battery will be drained to nothing. Inforce knows about this but from what i've read will do nothing about it. also this seems to happen with some but not all. have got a lot of thing from Brownell's and they are great people. this is not their fault and nothing against them.
Great Light, Easy to Use, Versatile
Fantastic weapon light. It's very functional and versatile. With a high to low or low to high setting and strobe, this light gives you the advantage over any target. It is not heavy, runs for a long time off of one battery, and easily mounts to any firearm with a rail. I highly recommend it.
A must buy!!!!!
WOW!!!! awesome light, well made easy to operate for the price you can't beat it..To the people that read this buy this light you will be pleased ....
Tactical and good looking!
I'll admit, I didn't need a light for my AR-15... but I wanted one. I searched through a couple of models and finally found this light because of its looks and its price. I read some good reviews of it, and some not so good reviews, both on Brownells and other websites. The light is pretty well built. It feels solid and I can't hear any parts shaking around when I walk with it. However I wouldn't feel safe continually dropping it on the ground. It has been on my gun since I got it and I shot with it on at the range. It seems to take the punishment pretty well. Its not the brightest light on the market, but I still wouldn't look directly at it when its on. The different functions are a nice touch, and I enjoy being able to choose what I want it to do. Watch the product video if you don't understand what I'm talking about. One of the major selling points for me is that it fits with the design and looks of the MOE style hand guard and can be easily mounted to one using an MOE rail system attachment. I used the L2-5 Slot rail from Magpul. Some people have reviewed this light in the past and spoken about its issue with draining batteries when left alone for too long. I honestly have to say I haven't noticed a problem with that yet. The stock battery it shipped with is still in the light and I purchased it 2 months ago. I do not use it for long periods of time like other might though. All in all, its a nice light for the price and It does look really awesome on my AR-15.
No Go
Bought this light a couple of years ago from a dealer (not Brownells). Took it out of the box for the first time yesterday. X6 rounds into zero'ing my AR, the light came on by itself and I had to loosen light head to get it to turn off. Since then hasn't worked (tried x2 fresh batteries) and had to send it in for repair. The ergonomics is awesome but unfortunately it's in a cheap plastic housing and has cheap electronics. Don't think it can handle anything bigger than a .22
Not something to bet your life on
Cheap and fragile. Mounted it to the forend of a Remington 870 shotgun and it did not survive the first 5 rounds during qualification. The light head, complete with thread assembly, seperated from the body of the light. Even after re-assembly, the light did not function.
