One of the best 22 LR ammo's available!
First of all the ammo is very clean. The accuracy has been very good at 10 feet to 45 feet during my use.I have a Ruger 22/45 LR Lite and I have had no issues with this ammo. The overall quality of this ammo great. It is my favorite 22 LR ammo. It is Hollow Point and 40 grains so I could say it was a good defensive ammo, but it would not be my first choice compared to 9 mm or others. However, if your only gun is a 22 LR and you desire some defensive ammo that is reliable buy this one! CCI makes darn good products.

Kills well
Several years ago I got a couple boxes of Velocitors and zeroed them in my late Dad's pre-Model 60 Marlin. As my son and I were putting up a ladder stand above the creek that runs through our property we heard some brush popping and saw a small piebald whitetail doe running hard down the bank. A large coyote was after her; I barked and the varmint stopped in an opening 40 yards away . I snapshot as the crosshairs aligned between the ear and eye and the 'yote disappeared. The doe kept running and lived several more years (per gamecams) and produced several offspring w piebald traits that we tagged. The 35-lb. Coyote gal was DRT via transverse brain shot that exited the offside of her skull. She produced no more deerkillers. Based on that performance I've steered several folks to this load who have only a .22LR for defense. That extra 200 FPS Is a lethal gamechanger! I need to dig the photo out of the 'puter to add to post later.

Best there is.
Just like every other firearm there is "plinking ammo" and there is "hunting ammo". This ammo, fired through a Remington 541-S, with a Nikon BDC rimfire optic, took a coon at 174yds. Bullet was a perfect little mushroom. Shot these through a chrony, and did the calculations for the BDC and it's amazingly accurate and consistent. I took a coyote, on a broadside shot, with full pass through. Coyote went 50 feet. Marmots, gophers, feral cats, huge coons, and never had a disappointment. This is the best 22 hunting ammo there is. In my opinion and experience.

Excellent round
These rounds are very powerful and accurate. They do a tremendous amount of damage and are my preferred carry round form .22LR

Best Hunting 22LR I ever saw
Perfect balance between hollow point early expansion for shock and deep penetration of solid points. Excellent on raccoons, and even larger feral dogs. Will take a small deer or small wild hog cleanly if good shot placement behind the ear is used. Very effective on prairie dogs and west texas rabbits if you can get close enough. There are ballistic gel tests on youtube and they are impressive, if you have to carry 22LR for survival or defense, this is the one you want. these cost more and so I wouldnt use them for pest control, but they do work the best of the mini mag line in my stock ruger 77/22, even with a breeze I get 2 inch groups at 100 yards. For straight up pest control or fun, use any of the mini mags, you wont go wrong. Ive shot thousands and thousands and cant recall a single dud because of bad ammo.

Great product!
Great product! Extra velocity helps with cycling in semi-autos. Devestating performance on game! Killed 2 deer with my P22, both instant one-shot kills! Gives you the performance you expect from Gold Dot ammo. I keep plenty of this on-hand!
