The Brownells Universal Pistol Armorer's Block helps the armorer or gunsmith disassemble, assemble or repair a broad range of pistols. This block uses a tough, non-marring PVC to give the user a solid work surface that won’t damage the finish of a firearm. Pin hole locations and slide cuts are designed to accommodate 1911s, as well as many other modern guns like S&W® M&Ps® & Glocks®.

Just got it, haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I did take my 1911 apart to check it out. Everything lined up just like it was supposed to do. Great Block

nice block

this block is very versatile. anything you need to do with your pistols will be easier using this block. due to changing my firing pin springs often i really appreciate the firing pin notch. very solid and has a bit of weight to it. i also like the fact that it is larger than most. a bit pricey but i am glad i bought this one.

Solid & Versatile

I used this in an armorers class for both Glock pistols and AR platform rifles and now at home. Myself and my fellow students found it a good, solid platform for a number of tasks that were doable without it, but much easier with it. For example, disassembling the firing pin assembly on the Glock can be done using the slide as a jig. This block is far more stable for that task. Installing the gas tube roll pin into a low profile gas block was similarly much easier with this block than without. My only complaint is that many of the holes and cutouts aren't labeled on the block itself, so being new to it, I kept having to refer back to the included paper description. I'll cut that out, laminate it and find a way to keep it handy.
