UNIVERSAL LASER BORESIGHTER

UNIVERSAL LASER BORESIGHTER Reviews & Ratings

Compact, self-contained boresighting system projects a bright red laser beam aligned with the bore axis for sighting scopes, holographic red dot sights, and “iron” sights to the point-of-aim without firing a shot. A powerful magnet holds the sighter securely on the muzzle of any rifle, pistol, or shotgun; nothing to insert into bore or chamber. Install the three batteries (included) into the battery compartment, use the centering guides on the rear of the boresighter to center it on the muzzle, and switch on. Aim at a target 20-30 yards away, and adjust windage and elevation of the scope or sights so point-of-aim is zeroed on the dot. Go to the range for test shots and final sight adjustments. Fits easily in pocket and includes padded nylon carrying case. SPECS: High-impact polycarbonate, black. Laser wavelength, 632-650 nm. Sighting range, 15-100 yards. Dot size, 2” at 100 yards. Includes (3) AG13 button cell batteries, nylon carrying case, and instructions.

What Reviewers Are Saying
Alignment and Centering Issues
60%
A recurring theme in reviews is the difficulty users face in properly aligning and centering the boresighter. Many customers express frustration over the lack of a self-centering feature, which leads to inconsistent results while sighting their firearms.
Functionality and Performance
50%
Reviewers note that while the product can help get firearms on paper at specific distances, its accuracy and overall performance are not reliable. Some users achieved satisfactory results, but others found it nearly useless, particularly in outdoor settings due to a weak laser beam.
Value for Money
40%
Several users mention that the boresighter is reasonably priced and serves its intended purpose without wasting ammunition. However, this low price also comes with limitations, and some reviewers feel that it does not deliver the level of performance expected for serious sighting.
Ease of Use
55%
The ease of use is frequently highlighted, with many users finding the process of using the boresighter more challenging than anticipated. The reliance on a flat magnet and manual adjustment contributes to difficulties in achieving accurate alignment.
Weak Laser Beam
30%
Multiple reviews point out the weak laser beam, which limits visibility in various settings, particularly outdoors. Users find this aspect problematic, as it hinders their ability to effectively use the product.

Better than most
I have used both versions of this boresighter, this one with a flat magnet (this one) and the other one with the self centering device. This one works well but compared to its self centering big sister is much more difficult to use simply due to the minor difficulty of centering to the rifle/pistol bore. I have used these on all varieties of firearms, rifles, pistols and shotguns with great success. When used properly definitely will put the firearm on paper at 25 yards for the average shooter. I only give it 4 stars due to the centering issue

Great Sight in Tool
This tool is reasonably priced and does the job you need it to do without wasting ammo at the range getting your gun on TARGET. I use it for my rifles and scope sight in to get on paper at 50 Yards (Never been an issue and I've used it many times). Always within 8 inches of center. Again - not intended at this price to be a paper puncher ragged hole sight in. I'm pleased with it for the price.

Does exactly what I need it to do.
I understand the other comments concerning centering - it is pretty rudimentary, especially for small bore guns. My purpose is to train myself in my proper "cheek weld" on the bead-sighted 12ga buttstock. The sighter repeatedly centers very well, and gives me the information that I need without expending ammo. When placing it in the storage pouch, one needs to be careful that it is not mistakenly switched on - it is best to reverse one of the batteries to disable it. When I respond to the "recommendation-to-friend" part, it will be in relation to my particular use.

worthless
can not get it centered. The beam is so weak you can not see it outdoors and indoors it is only good for about 10 ft. do not waste your money

"Too much whiz and not enough bang"
The only way this attaches is by a flat magnet against the muzzle. There is no way to make sure the laser is centered on the muzzle besides some circles marked on the magnet end. Because of this there is no accuracy, reliability, or repeatability. This product is practically useless.

Too much whiz and not enough bang
It's not as easy as it looks on the video. It's got a magnet that you got to place the best you can on the barrel tip and most of the time is not on the center so you will never get the laser twice on the same spot. A waste of money, maybe this company got another model that can perform better but these item is no good.
