buy one or 2!
Fantastic tool I use all the time.
Why 2? One on my bench and one in my bag.
When I took my SOLGW armorer class one of the SOLGW guys saw it on my table and said "I love that tool”
He’s right and you will too! ...and you’ll make a friend for life if you give one away.
Would you recommend this?
Yes, I would recommend to a friend
Works as advertised.
I used this tool to install my Gissele AR15 High-Speed National Match Trigger. I'm glad I purchased this tool since it helped make the trigger installation easier. This is a welcome tool in my shooting tool box.
Why didn't I buy this sooner?
I have built a dozen or so Armalite style rifles in the past couple of years and never saw a need to by a specialized tool to line up the trigger and hammer pins when an Allen Key worked just fine. Well, I watched a Geissele trigger installation video and popped for the tool. I figured for about fifteen bucks it couldn't hurt. I put together five lowers in a single day right after this came in. Why I didn't get this sooner escapes me. The tool is a perfect fit, unlike the close(ish) fit that I was getting from my make-shift tools. The Geissele lock rings were considerably easier to deal with, the nub on the tool helped with applying pressure to the tool and not your palm, and pin installation was a breeze. The only small drawback was that it did leave a silver mark on a hard anodized CNC lower. It took a little rubbing, but it did come clean. Just spend the fifteen bucks. You'll appreciate the help.
Excellent tool by the trigger experts
This tool was much smaller than I expected for some reason looking at it online, but it functions perfectly. I used it to remove the trigger and hammer pins already installed in Geissele triggers and hammer that they ship with. I also used it to remove the trigger and hammer pins of the fire control group that was already installed in my AR15. It is also useful as a slave pin for the trigger/disconnector if you don't already have a small slave pin, and it helps with the hammer pin installation. Since this pin is exactly the diameter of the pin holes, it is very tight so I had to make sure I was centered when I was lightly tapping out the old pins with it. Overall I'm glad I purchased it for switching out fire control groups on ARs.
Good deal
This tool was much smaller than I expected for some reason looking at it online, but it functions perfectly. Make changing triggers a breeze, simple, quick and easy. A great, must have tool.
Great Idea... Poor Execution
Hard to believe Geissele had a hand in this. Great idea! Dowel pin is the correct size for the hammer and trigger pins. The problem is, the dowel rod is held into the end cap with loctite 242. The end cap is threaded, but the dowel cannot be threaded to match. First time I applied any force, the cap fell off leaving me with a dowel pin. Would work great if the cap were threaded on. You can see the blue loctite in the photos.
