TACTICAL 100 ELECTRONIC EARMUFFS Reviews & Ratings
Awesome!!!
I bought these to use for IPSC and High Power due to their relatively low profile, electronic noise cancelling and the higher Db reduction rating. As the first pair of electronic muffs I've purchased they have been an excellent choice! Comfortable and a pleasure to wear. The audio-in feature is handy for both range and field use, being able to listen to music pre-match or listening to comms in the field is one of the many highlights of these muffs!
Comfortable, decent
Very comfortable to wear with fairly soft ear seals. I do like how the cups themselves are deep enough to not irritate your ears. They have never had much amplification but after a year of ownership they now seem to never be loud enough even with new batteries and the volume maxed out. It seems like they won't be functional for much longer in that regards. They do a good job of detecting and blocking noise but it takes a decent amount of time for the ambient noise to come back through. It works but it seems pretty rudimentary. I think they are pretty decent all things considered for the value but the volume amplification is not very great.
Sorry Peltor, Not as Good as the 6-S
I bought these to replace a pair of Peltor Tactical 6-S earmuffs. The battery door was moved to the outside of the earmuffs--only improvement. Every gunshot is followed by 1-2 seconds of silence. Several gunshots in rapid succession shut off the sound amplification until 1-2 seconds after the last gunshot. I thought this might be a hearing safety thing, so I called Peltor/ 3M--No. Turns out Peltor went with lower grade sound circuits in the Tactical 100 earmuffs--major step down in performance from the 6-S. I'm gonna try the Peltor Tac-Sport earmuffs next.
