Drop-in replacements for factory components enhance reliability and optimize the performance of your M&P for different applications. Installing the Competition Kit yields a smooth, consistent, trigger pull of slightly less than 3 lbs., with shorter over-travel and faster reset than a factory-stock M&P. Retain the factory sear spring to get a slightly heavier 3½ lb. pull. Designed for IDPA, USPSA, Steel Challenge, 3-gun, and similar types of action shooting competition. Not for duty, carry, or self-defense applications. Duty/Carry Kit delivers a smooth, consistent 5½ lb. trigger pull with less over-travel and shorter reset. Improves performance of your pistol while maintaining its safety features for daily carry. Retain the factory sear spring to get a slightly lighter 5 lb. pull. Both kits engineered for a drop-in fit, though gunsmith installation is recommended.

Provided a smoother trigger pull for my M&P 2.0

This drop-in kit from Apex Tactical, which a gunsmith at my local range suggested, provided a smoother trigger pull for my M&P 2.0. I called Apex with a question after I purchased it and I was impressed by their support. The installation video they provided on YouTube was easy to follow.

From 7lbs to 2.75lbs

Took a chance and initially purchased a low-cost competitor's spring kit to reduce the factory 7lb trigger pull on our S&W M&P 45C. We installed the low-cost spring kit and polished all the trigger components to a bright buttery-smooth finish but only changed trigger pull to 5.5.lb. Our old 70+ fingers don't grip as well as they used to and we needed much less in the trigger pull. We purchased the 45 ACP Competition Kit by Apex and installed the components without any polishing and our trigger pull is now 2.75lbs. Our offhand shooting accuracy at 21ft improved dramatically using a typical combat grip - see photo. We use a Lyman Electronic Digital Trigger Pull Gage and it really works well, but it is not a dead-weight pull tester; however, it is repeatable to give us valuable information. We recommend the 45 ACP Competition Kit because it definitely works as advertised.

Well Worth the Money

Installed this kit in my M&P 40 1.0 and it is basically a new pistol now. No more creep and mushy trigger. This is the trigger that S&W should have installed originally in the first generation M&P pistols. Not difficult to install. Watch the Apex installation video and get a nice set of punches.

My First Choice

I have installed Apex Kits in 2 9mm Shields, a full size 40S&W and a full size 45ACP. I am pleased with the quality and results. The videos available from their site make installation a breeze. Except for removing the OEM Sights on the Shield which is a true PITA. I have removed sights from many pistols and they are hands down the worst. I recommend the Apex kits to all of my M&P customers,

It really worked!

I was skeptical, but willing to spend the $ for this kit. Wow, what a difference. It's a least in the ballpark of the trigger pull for all other pistols.

totally different pistol after install

Hated my M&P full size 9mm pistol because of the very heavy trigger pull. Yep could shoot it but shots were all over the place so it sat in gun safe. Purchased this kit and took to local gunsmith to have installed for safety reasons ( no experence with triggers at all) and now it is a smooooth trigger pull and about a 4.5lb trigger pull a huge difference like a totally different pistol. The pull is so much smoother and lighter and has a nice defined breaking point and a short reset just makes this kit a MUST DO to your M&P pistol from the start.. First time out just wowed me best I ever shot this pistol with best 5 shots at 3 inch bulleye from 10 yards was 4 bulleyes and 1 about 2 inches off bulleye for somebody that has only been shooting for 14 months.

Noticibly better...

I was not happy with the trigger pull and reset on my M&P 9mm. After the install the trigger pull is lighter but the most notable change is in the trigger reset, much more definite than before. My accuracy is much better now with this kit, I did not change the trigger, if I had it to do over I would have changed that as well.

Best trigger ever!

This kit combined with the aluminum trigger left me with the single best striker fired trigger I've ever encountered and one that rivals many SAO triggers as well. Money well spent!

great must have mod for your M&P

Great improves trigger feel and operation. Also installed the RAM. Feels like a good match trigger, not 1911 race gun trigger but close enough. Got it installed by a gunsmith. Thanks Apex and Brownells for supporting IDPA shooters in South Africa.
