SUPPRESSOR COVERS

SUPPRESSOR COVERS Reviews & Ratings

Being the first product of its kind, the Magpul Suppressor Cover 5.5” is able to stand up to the extreme temperatures caused by extended strings of fire while still protecting the user against burns by keeping internal can temperatures at safe levels and cool-off times short. The Magpul Suppressor Cover is a heat resistant polymer sleeve overlaid onto a raised stainless steel heat shield that directly mounts to the suppressor body with steel clamps. It minimizes heat transfer to keep external cover temperatures up to 1000 degrees F cooler than the surface of the suppressor by allowing high volumes of cooling airflow across the can. The Magpul Suppressor Cover 5.5” is also an enhanced thermal insulator and signature reduction device that mitigates negative visible mirage effects and also reduces external suppressor body impact damage. The Suppressor cover is developed for 1.5” outer diameter round suppressors with body length approximately 5.5”, not including the attachment hardware.

  • Extreme temperature protection for body and gear
  • Reduces thermal signature of host firearm
  • High temperature polymer sleeve withstands extremely high suppressor temperatures during extended periods of firing without deterioration
  • Available in black or medium coyote tan

The Magpul Suppressor Cover 5.5” is a perfect addition to your range bag for easier handling of your suppressed firearm!

It's all About the Details
These Suppressor Covers are well made, the overall quality and appearance are good. The attachment method uses a pair of "spacer-squeez-rings" to provide clearance between the suppressor and the stainless steel sleeve that resides under the rubberized Magpul outer cover. Installation of the rings is critical to proper functionality. Trial-fitting and test firing is a good plan to prevent launching the rings, and/or sleeve under fire. There's a bunch of physics going on at the muzzle, heat, vibration and torque want to claim your Magpul Suppressor Cover, so attention to detail is important to keep everything in order. I bought one, then another. It's a nice addition and performs well.

Works well but is heavy
The cover works as advertised. Easy to install (just move rubber sleeve out of the way to tighten). The negative is it is heavy, but I will still continue to use it since it is the best option out there..

Maybe it's not for me.
After 30 rounds, cool to the touch. 60, warm, 90+, too hot to handle. While hot, the rubber cover (over the heat shield) slides if you push on it even a little. Which makes removing the suppressor while hot an issue. At 25 yards, made the point of impact about 2" lower than usual. It also adds a noticeable amount of weight. I took it off.
